@majorityfm I was so excited to see you had THE Mike Masnick on the show today. Just wish you would have let him explain the 1st Amendment case properly. You have to be able to see how all the mechanisms and incentives come together, to understand why Section 230 is so critical.

@_unchainedmedia Right. Because only votes count. If marginalized American citizens can't somehow be prevented from voting, they will absolutely cast out the traitors to the Constitution who have been enabling the Trump regime's crimes. If you can't at least muddy the waters, the GOP is sunk.

Obviously this is absurd. (None of those actual *people* are still alive, the party evolved, etc – this garbage has been debunked to death.) More relevant: this only seems like a gotcha, if you wrap your indentity in a political party, and imagine everyone else must too. 🤔😉

@_unchainedmedia No, it's an acknowledgement of sociopolitical realities. It is harder for people who are just scraping by to obtain these documents – both practically and financially. Refusing to acknowledge these artificial demands upon their time and wallet only reveals deficient empathy. 🤷‍♂️

@_unchainedmedia I mean, who cares about their reason here anyway? Since when does the government have this kind of authority? To demand every citizen HAVE this kind of ID – much *less* to make it a prerequisite to exercising basic civil rights? Can you point to that line in the Constitution?

@_unchainedmedia "Disparate impact ≠ [...]" Duh. That doesn't matter. If some system is biased against select people – for something innate or private – then it's presumptively wrong regardless. BUT – finding DI doesn't *rule out* racial intent! Jim Crow is a history of malicious pretext. 🤔😐

@_unchainedmedia It's you who've arbitrarily narrowed the definition of Jim Crow. In fact, it was a broad system that operated to maintain power disparity across all aspects of life. Voter ID is only "neutral" if you refuse to acknowledge the real experience of millions of Americans. So – not.

@_unchainedmedia Republicans are arguing dishonestly here. P.S. We're the United States of America. "Other countries do [x]" is a *valid* argument, but not a strong one. Especially when proposing to alter the operation of our political system, which has MANY other unique quirks that might clash.

@_unchainedmedia It doesn't actually have to be racist to be wrongheaded. But also, all you're really doing here is imagining away disparate impact, then rewriting the narrative under the intrinsic assumption that targeted disparate impacts cannot be racism. That's the whole argument though. 🤷‍♂️

In Minnesota, ONE registered voter can vouch for up to EIGHT persons without an ID. This is absurd. It's time to end the fraud. It's time for election integrity. It's time to PASS THE SAVE AMERICA ACT.
ThePersistence@ScottPresler

@SenAmyKlobuchar This is why you’re against proof of citizenship. 1 registered Minnesota voter can vouch for up to 8 persons without an ID. When we pass the SAVE America Act, vouching will no longer be allowed in Minnesota.

@sabine_alise @RepDonaldsPress It could be 50 for all I care. What's wrong with you? Voting fraud is rare, but when it happens it's treated as a serious crime. It often carries a prison sentence. Vouching for multiple ineligble voters: each one adds risk, and potentially years behind bars. Who would do that?

@RepDonaldsPress On top of that, when they changed it to eight they also implemented 45 days of early voting to make it even easier! Fraud, Minnesota style.

@RepDonaldsPress I have been an election judge for 2 elections and I have NEVER had someone vouch for another person. All new voters showed up with appropriate ID to register to vote.

@RepDonaldsPress ROFL. And go to prison for 8 consecutive terms if they lie about it. Who cares? Who is risking prison to vouch for unqualified voters? If we actually even need an absolute cap, 8 seems perfectly reasonable to me, especially if you have elderly neighbors. What's wrong with you?

@RealAlexCastano @RepDonaldsPress Nothing about Biden's numbers were fabricated. You just didn't understand how the reporting system worked (don't worry, most people still don't), and Trump took advantage of that to lie to you about what Biden was doing. Revisions aren't the problem. Trump's lies about it are.

@RepDonaldsPress Fake numbers just like Biden’s fake numbers. They will be revised down later in the year.

ICYMI: The House PASSED S. 1383 – "The Save America Act," with a vote of 218-213. This common sense bill ensures ONLY US CITIZENS can vote in US ELECTIONS and you have to confirm your identity before you vote. This is basic election integrity and this will SECURE OUR ELECTIONS.
