Help at the 4 and a backup, true PG away from being a truly terrifying roster

@Friar_Baguette There’s literally no point in watching any NBA game from the start of the season until the second round.

1st round playoff basketball might be the most boring thing in all of sports. The talent discrepancy between 1/8, 2/7, 3/6 is beyond ridiculous.

@spencerinvestor @PmtStats This devalues the regular season even more. Imagine going 70-12 then losing one game in the first round because you can’t buy a bucket

@PmtStats single game in round 1 and best-of-3 in round 2 is easiest solution, but money prevents this from ever happening. playoffs are way too long. round 1 is not interesting.

If the NBA was a serious league they would shrink the playoffs. 7 of the 8 first round matchups will be walk overs. 9 of the 16 playoff teams have 0% chance of winning the title. 98% of champions have been a 1-3 seed. The last champion outside a top 3 seed was over 30 years ago.

@StratTrading @jasonwhitlock 12 teams make it total. 6 teams from each conference. Top two in each conference get a bye. And get rid of worse teams having better lottery odds while you’re at it. Every team that doesn’t make the playoffs should have the same odds. Why reward being bad?

Well, I don’t agree with this. Take the playoffs. Need to be significantly reduced. Having 66% of the league make the playoffs completely diminishes the point of the regular season. The higher seeds will win anyway as they have for the last 50 years in the NBA. You don’t need more than 8 teams in the playoffs in the NBA. The cream will always rise to the top.

NBA needs a playoff mercy rule. First two rounds of the playoffs, higher seeds can end the series by winning the first three games. Go up 3-0 as the higher seed, series ends. No reason to prolong these series.

@BryanHodgsonFan @Friarmelo I don’t think so either and it’s not a knock on mela just shows how much talent Hodgson is bringing in. I want a true power forward that’s 6’8-6’10 and can shoot a little bit but rebounding is the most important thing to keep adding right now

@BryanHodgsonFan @Friarmelo We have Hightower as a true point guard. But I trust pate and vanterpool to share that position. Mela also has a good enough feel to see some time as a point forward

@Friarmelo @Friarnews1 I wouldn’t expect a true starting pg. Hodgson seems to like the committee approach. I don’t think Pate, Vanterpool, or Byrd would’ve came here to come off the bench and don’t see any of them playing the 4. I thinks it’s more likely we get a starting 4.

@Friarballknower @FriarsCapital Page looks like the much higher potential player from tape though. He can do just about every better than Oswin except height and jumping

The NW fans shit talking Page is kinda silly. Page may have his issues when it come to being committed but you cannot argue his upside. I have faith that Hodgson and co. can get the best out of him.

@AJReevesIsland They say he has effort issues. Incredibly talented but doesn’t work hard and is a liability defensively. Hopefully if he comes here Hodgson can change those.

@NUBALLKNOWER We should offer preseason therapy sessions so they understand how frustrating Page can be to watch. Then again, they may get NBA page.

Arrinten Page has now officially entered the transfer portal. Averaged 10 PPG this year after doing nothing at USC and Cincinnati in the years prior. Chose to not play defense for half the time as well 🤷‍♂️ Will be going to his fourth school in four years. Charmin-soft 🧻

NEWS: Northwestern’s Arrinten Page intends to enter the transfer portal, his agent Stan Jackson of SOJ2 Sports Management Group tells DraftExpress. The 6’11” Georgia native was a double-digit scorer for the Wildcats this season. Boasts tremendous physical and athletic tools, averaging more than one dunk and block per game.
