My 12 yo son plays ice hockey and due to his skill he is targeted often / receives abuse from crazy hockey parents. But yesterday after he won the playoff game, an old timer grandpa from the other team came over and said, “Are you player # xx? I gotta shake your hand, I just love the way you skate! Well done!” It was such a beautiful moment, I nearly cried! There is so much negativity in youth sports I was so grateful for a bright spot.

@chrismpeters We used to have a team in Long Beach, CA and enjoyed going to the games. After a few years they folded. I hope for a better outcome for your Heartlanders!

@BryanPollo46815 No. Plenty of ECHL teams are doing quite well for themselves and the league as a whole is in a good spot. Most are independently owned with a few ownership groups having multiple teams. Wouldn't use this as a signifier of anything else.

Hugely disappointing news. Been an absolute blast calling select home games for the Landers since the inaugural season and even better to have a team 15 minutes from our front door for my kids to enjoy.
