NEW: Police airlift a crocodile with the body of a 59-year-old businessman inside.
Local police in South Africa say they suspected the crocodile ate the man after observing it from drones. They then shot it and airlifted it off.
When they landed back on the ground, the crocodile was sliced open, and human remains were found.
The remains are believed to be those of 59-year-old Gabriel Batista, who had previously been swept away in raging floodwaters.
His ring was found inside the animal along with six other pairs of shoes, which authorities fear may belong to other victims.
On Monday, Batista reportedly tried to drive over a flooded bridge to reach his hotel and bar, but he and his truck were swept into the water.
He was then swept down the river, where crocodiles were waiting for prey. It is unclear if Batista was already deceased when he was eaten, but authorities believe some of his other remains may have been eaten by other crocodiles.

Background
In 2017, General Constantine Chiwenga, as head of Zimbabwe’s armed forces, led the military coup which brought President Emmerson Mnangagwa to power and won Chiwenga the vice presidency.
The two have since fallen out and are fighting over Mnangagwa’s apparent desire to stay in office for an unconstitutional third term.
Vice-President Chiwenga’s allegations
In September 2025, Chiwenga brought the fight to the ZANU PF politburo, one of the party’s highest decision-making bodies. The Vice-President submitted a dossier alleging that criminals surrounding the president were corrupting the ruling party.
The document, obtained by ZimLive, contained an explosive allegation concerning fuel giant Sakunda Holdings and its partial owner Kudakwashe Tagwirei, a close ally of Mnangagwa and rumoured to be a rival candidate to Chiwenga to succeed the President.
Sakunda’s joint venture with commodity trading giant Trafigura sold fuel worth between $600 million and $800 million each year from 2014 to 2017, while from 2016 to 2019 Sakunda received over $1billion in public funds to buy seed and fertilizer in the controversial Command Agriculture program. Specifically, Chiwenga complained of:
“the stealing and concealment by Kudakwashe Tagwirei of the Party’s 45% shareholding in Sakunda Holdings held by Mvuto Investments (Private) Limited, an investment vehicle of the Party held through our National Reconstruction Group, which was purchased in November 2013.”
In October 2025, ZANU PF’s legal secretary Ziyambi Ziyambi hit back at Chiwenga, circulating a rebuttal document. Ziyambi denied that the party holds shares in Sakunda, although he maintained a careful silence about the National Reconstruction Group and Mvuto Investments.

Yesterday at around 10:00 PM, I was driving an inDrive customer to Borrowdale. I used the road that passes by State House and the Harare Golf Club. Just after the durawall of State House, near the agricultural buildings, there was a single Presidential Guard soldier.
He stopped a Toyota Aqua and made it pull over to the side of the road, but I did not stop because I did not realise I was being signalled. On my way back, the same soldier stopped me. He asked for my driver’s licence and car keys, which I handed over.
He then asked where I was coming from, and I explained that I was coming from Borrowdale, as I was working as an inDrive driver. He said he wanted to deal with me for not stopping when I was allegedly signalled by officers near the Botanical Gardens. I told him that I did not see anyone signalling me to stop.
He then said he was arresting me and that he would deal with me. When he attempted to put me in handcuffs, I refused. At that point, he cocked his gun and pointed it at me, saying, “Do you think I am playing? Do something.”
Out of fear for my safety, I gave him the $20 I had. He also appeared to be intoxicated.

In the 2013 elections, the opposition suffered massive defeat as a result of rigging by Zanupf system.
Working with the RG's office, many fake Identity cards were issued to Zanupf supporters some as young 13.
In our recent audits we discovered a lot of ID documents that do not conform to the formula used. With CAB3 bringing back the RG's office into elections management this spells more doom for voters roll management.
We will witness the mother of all rigging.
