@i_numbers82778 Do you know how is the expected figure is calculated? Is it simply using the rate catchers got them right in the minors before when they tested it, or is it more sophisticated and includes pitch location?

Drake Baldwin is off to a phenomenal start to the 2026 season. 59 PA .321/.390/.623 12 Runs (Tied for MLB Lead) 5 HR (Tied for MLB Lead) 15 RBI (Leads MLB) It's a loaded position at the top, but Baldwin is putting himself in the C1 discussion for fantasy. #BravesCountry

@EricCrossMLB @Jyphx If he could stick as a catcher my song on him would be a worlds different tune, because of how hard it is to get offense out of that position. Its just that he is hidden there currently and it makes him something he isnt

@EricCrossMLB @Jyphx Some of his metrics are miserable considering he is truly a 1B/DH which I should have clarified, but if you want to view him as a catcher currently thats fair since he hasnt been moved off yet. If the metrics were good he wouldn't be below average last year and projected again

@EricCrossMLB @Jyphx and even from that perspective, he was not NEARLY the hitter people claimed. Thats all im saying. Not a terrible bat on the whole, but people touting him as a top 6 fantasy catcher is ridiculous

@EricCrossMLB @Jyphx Dude you know better than this. Those very projections are built on what he did last year, and last year he was BELOW AVERAGE IN RUNS CREATED. I get fantasy likes seeing his homeruns from catcher, but the other parts of his game make it unlikely he even stays a catcher

@EricCrossMLB @Jyphx His projections when pooled show a 2% better than league average hitter, which is great from anyone but especially catcher. But when you see The Bat, and ATC are both projecitng below league average wRC+ that doesnt fit well with what you are saying. Also, grow a spine dude

@Jyphx @EricCrossMLB He isn't trash, but he is nowhere what people claim he is. Also he hasnt been bad so far this year, I just dont think it will last how people proclaim. He isn't a catcher and wont be for long, and if he isnt a much better hitter he wont be the best 1B or DH either
