🇭🇺🇺🇸 Why is it suddenly in the United States’ national interest that Hungary prospers only as long as Viktor Orbán remains in power? What, exactly, does America gain from tying itself to a dictator in a country of ten million, instead of strengthening relations with the rest of Europe, a continent of roughly 700 million people, integrated markets, advanced industrial capacity, shared intelligence, and the most reliable U.S. security partners in the world? There is no strategic upside here. The United States gains no leverage, no scale, no technological edge, no economic multiplier. What it risks instead is reputational damage, weakened alliances, reduced trust, and long term isolation from the democratic bloc that underpins Western power in the 21st century. Marco Rubio stands as the spokesperson for a foreign policy shift that offers the United States nothing.

Switzerland has eased restrictions on the export and re-export of weapons to 25 countries. However, Ukraine was not included on this list. This decision was approved by both houses of the Swiss Parliament, as reported by Swissinfo. Of these 25 countries, 19 are European states. The others are Argentina, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, and the United States. Now, authorization for the delivery of Swiss weapons to these countries will be granted automatically, even if they are involved in an armed conflict. Except for Ukraine!
