Teachers are the whiniest profession in America. They work less than half the year. They're back home by 3:30 PM everyday. They never have to work weekends or holidays. But then they'll whine they aren't paid for their 20 minute commute.

@MarvelTeacher2 I worked sales where if I didn’t sell anything I worked for free that day. I also had a salaried job where my day was 8-6 but couldn’t leave until the last customer was gone which could be 7-8pm. I was paid based on 40 hours but averaged 55+ hours. 15 hours a week “unpaid”.

@FrankBr05713205 Not petty. If prices are so volatile they can't print them it's indicative of other issues. Is it good mozzarella, or the cheap cheese they're using today? Like places that refuse cash (legal tender) they can take their high tech & shove it.

This might seem petty to some but to me its a deal breaker. Took the family to a "dine in" Pizza Hut last night. The waitress brings the menus and I notice it has no prices on it. I asked her for one that has the prices as that helps me decide what to order. She said that I could scan the QR code on my phone to get the prices. Great, but I have a rule at the supper table and its no cell phones, not even mine. So that wasn't an option unless I went back out to the car and get my cell phone. So I did go back out to my car along with my whole family and went to another pizza restaurant that had prices on the menu. Later on I checked on line and found out that it wasn't just this Pizza Hut but many of them lack menu prices because corporate frequently adjusts costs. Sorry corporate but, I think this is wrong. I want a menu with prices on it or I may think your are being deceptive.

Corporate World 52 weeks at 40 hours 2080 hours with unpaid lunch Teachers work 70% of the year compared to every one else.

I was a teacher for 12 years, and I hate this sort of rhetoric. A teacher's day is done by 3 pm. They never work a night or weekend unless they want to. Only 180 work days per year, they're off 1/2 the time. It's paid appropriately, but no teachers want to hear that.

@LaLittle2025 @addictcoaching @anymanfitness Trust me. I know. My wife left after teaching for 17 years for less pay and MUCH less stress. Student behavior and unsupportive Admin were key factors. When she left, she was making $74k with a 90/10 split on health insurance premiums. Now it’s $24k and 70/30.

@addictcoaching @anymanfitness News Flash: Young people make less right out of college. How is their pay in years 10-30? I know many making close to or over $100k teaching 20 years in with minimal healthcare costs and a guaranteed pension of $80k+ a year when they retire.

An overwhelming majority of teachers I have ever known worked two jobs for the first ten years of their career. I’ve know hundreds of them. Bartenders, waitresses. Lifeguards, coaches, tutors, dishwashers, landscapers , on and on and on. The reason was simple. They had too in order to raise a family financially.
