@gummibear737 Actually we need to give some credit to Gen Z. They shifted hard right from 2020.

@AlexBerenson By definition, if it's legal it isn't stealing whether or not it disappears. Why use such dishonest language?

When a politician you elected says an "emergency" means you don't have to pay student loans or rent, and you take advantage - What you owe doesn't vanish. You're just stealing (legally) from people who kept their word. Now you can't steal anymore. Please stop whining about it.

TRUST: NPIs (non-pharmaceutical interventions) did not change course of Omicron including masks. At this point, public health should do what it takes to increase trust in their recommendations healthline.com/health-news/ma…

@MyBigPost @AlexBerenson @DavidSacks @Jason This has NOTHING to do with an audit opinion. They validate financials based on accounting guidelines. If you want to make the argument that the accounting rules for HTM securities are flawed, go ahead. But can't blame the auditors on this one.

@AlexBerenson @DavidSacks @Jason Yet, KPMG signed off on an unqualified opinion on SVB's just issued 12/31/2022 financials. All of this was apparent to any auditor, yet they green lighted it without any problem.

What these two charts say is: don’t let the VC whiners like @davidsacks and @jason fool you. There is no systemic risk. A very badly run bank got taken out and shot last week, the end. It just happens to be their bank SO IT CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO HURT THEM! THIS CANNOT STAND!
Lake Cornelia Research Management@CorneliaLake

Michael Cembalest, the brilliant market strategist at $JPM …highlighting how much of an outlier $SIVB was in two charts: 1. Highest risk, least sticky deposit base 2. Worst capital position $42 billion of $170+ billion of deposits was yanked in 1 day. Doubt any other bank could see that speed.

We are now in a position to evaluate the impact of Covid vaccines. Overall, I believe they were a success, actually well beyond what most informed people probably anticipated in 2020. 1/ twitter.com/BallouxFrancoi…
Prof Francois Balloux@BallouxFrancois

We are in a slightly better position with #COVID19 as vaccines are concerned, relative to past influenza pandemics. There is a real opportunity to keep mortality down, at least in rich countries, by focusing vaccination efforts towards some of the most 'at risk' in society. 7/

A National Emergency is a calamitous event like a hurricane, not AOC saying the world will end in 12 years Politicians frequently refer to things as emergencies to incite fear for political purposes But in life and death emergencies, you’re supposed to remain calm…not for C-19

Outside of Covid-19, there ever been a National Emergency in which our government and media have actively sought to instill fear and panic in the general public

@xtinewilcox @HangtownReason @K_G_Andersen It's not meant as an insult, it's just thr reality. Other than age, obesity is the biggest factor for severe disease. People who are young and not obese have very little risk with Covid. I'm sorry, but I follow the science.

@BudgetBaronCPA @HangtownReason @K_G_Andersen I’m obese? You can see my body and know my height etc? Interesting. I’m asthmatic which plays a factor but so are a lot of other Americans. A lot of us are also obese. However I know many healthy people who did die. You’re an ass.

@HangtownReason @K_G_Andersen Then your throat closes you and you can’t swallow. It’s not fun. It’s scary. I miss my family. I hate that I gave it to my husband. I hate that my two small children are left to fend for themselves while we fight this under the same roof and hope they don’t become infected.

@GaslightWatch @gummibear737 Just because the dollar has gained against the Euro, doesn't mean the dollar is strengthening. It's losing purchasing power. It's still a race to the bottom.

@lisa_iannattone @ShamezLadhani Yup. If it’s 1 in 40 for kids it’s likely 1 in 10 for adults. Risk accumulates with time. Infection after infection is not a good thing in particular if it’s every 6-12 months which seems likely based on it’s current transmissibility. Cumulative risk matters

Primary covid infections end in hospitalization for 1 in 37 kids. Reinfections end in hospitalization for 1 in 42 kids. The author @ShamezLadhani doesn’t think that the ~1 in 40 risk of hospitalization, that persists with reinfections, is the takeaway point here. I disagree.
Shamez Ladhani@ShamezLadhani

I am one of the authors of this paper👇 In Kids, hospitalisations=uncommon & ICU=rare after primary OR re-infection with #SARSCoV2 (alpha/delta) Importantly, there were 44 deaths after primary infection (0·01%) & none after reinfection Reinfections were NOT more severe in kids

Honestly, Mina has got to be SO excited to demonstrate his panoply of antigen tests. He's like a grown adult with a Star Wars action figure collection and this is the ONE TIME he really gets to show them off. 😂

Imagine you get a serious illness. Your doctor says u must take treatment until ur symptoms are gone & then u can stop, but it could come back so u’ll need regular check ups & to get treated again if it does. Would you refuse treatment b/c it’s not a guaranteed forever cure???
