Why are Ugandans so obsessed with segregating fellow citizens based on their origin, particularly those of Rwandan and Indian heritage? We often act as though attaining Ugandan citizenship is an insurmountable challenge, yet we have blood relatives who have easily obtained citizenship in first-world countries. Why do we rarely question how our own diaspora acquired foreign citizenships? Are some Ugandans' opinions on this issue driven by hate, sectarianism, ignorance, or propaganda? If native citizens of other countries have granted people from elsewhere their citizenship and entrusted them with key positions of authority, why can’t we do the same for our Ugandan brothers and sisters who originate from other countries but have legally obtained Ugandan citizenship? Look at these examples of distinguished individuals in leadership; 1. Judge Salome Balungi Bossa: A distinguished Ugandan jurist serving as a judge on the International Criminal Court (ICC). 2. Kashyap "Kash" Patel: An American lawyer of Indian origin who serve as the Director of the FBI. 3.President Barack Obama: The 44th President of the United States, who holds deep familial and ancestral ties to Kenya. 4.Mayor Zohran Mamdani: A member of the New York State Assembly, born to an Indian-Ugandan father and a prominent Indian mother. Etc etc.

@Wassajja_Aiden @ReachDrMuganga You said it, "he is not the first...", why the public animosity when it comes to him? "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction". When you overly engage in narcissists tribal agendas in the name of Bavandimwe fetes, it speaks volumes about your inner sentiments.

Dr. @ReachDrMuganga should know that Banyarwanda are a recognized indigenous community in Uganda and have served in high government positions before including ministerial and senior security roles. He is not the first, nor will he be the last. The issue here is not tribe or ethnicity; it is compliance with the Constitution and the Citizenship and Immigration Control Act. Ministers, especially in sensitive dockets like Internal Affairs, cannot hold multiple citizenships without proper renunciation. Other Banyarwanda nominees who met these legal requirements were approved. Playing the tribal card distracts from the real principle: equal application of the law to every Ugandan, regardless of background. Merit, transparency, and loyalty to Uganda should come first. Let’s build a nation based on rules, not ethnic mobilization.

@KamogaMunawa It is legal but illegitimate🤔. Let him leave Ugandans-to-the-bone and spirit, to manage our internal affairs. Let him also ask his violent blood thirsty genocide-loving, Bavandimwe movement cronies to shut up threatening M23 violence in Uganda. Here, we use reason not violence!

Mr. Frank Gashumba is threatening to start an M23 war in Uganda because Muganga Lawrence was denied the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He’s probably revealing their secrets out of anger. It shows they’ve had this plan to overthrow the Gov’t all along. @PoliceUg @mkainerugaba 👇

@IvanMuganga5 Large egos and academic accolades aside, clearly he is not the best candidate for Uganda"s Ministry of Internal Affairs. This would never cause any hullabaloo if say he was in Education or ICT. His past conduct (Bavandimwe movement) speaks volumes that cannot serve Ugandans.

KABANDA DAUDI Have facts stop gambling and address Dr.Lawrence Muganga with his title, that aside Dr. Muganga is a Ugandan who had got an opportunity after school to go work in Rwanda Kigali and later on after a few years a better opportunity came in which was only for Rwandan citizens and it’s that time he got a 🇷🇼 Rwandan passport which helped him to travel to Canada 🇨🇦 and he also had to seek for citizenship which he acquired in 2012 and the Rwandan passport was meant to expire in 2014. By law in Rwanda 🇷🇼 “when you take 90days without renewal of your passport with dual citizenship it’s an automatic denouncing of your citizenship” Later in 2024 when he had issues with Canada they asked him for proof of denouncing Rwanda citizenship he went to the Rwandan embassy for a letter to prove it. And am still wondering why THE LIKES OF KABANDA WHO HAVE NO INFORMATION ARE TAKING WHAT THE HATERS ARE SAYING. With no doubt Dr. Lawrence Muganga is 100% an Ugandan who denounced Rwanda. #ForGODandMyCountry

@africatodayMG This is not an informative comparison. It should be considering the accessible land surface area in this comparison. Some countries are much smaller than others and some have large terrain where roads cannot be built, swamps, mountain ranges, etc.

@Narnozaaa Why does Egypt think Ethiopians and citizens of other countries with Nile tributaries are so stupid not to figure out that the Nile needs to be amicably shared? Who told them they have exclusive rights to the Nile & its tributaries? It's not in African DNA to deny life to others!

@BugembeLule Egypt’s issue was never Ethiopia generating electricity. The issue was Ethiopia making unilateral decisions over a river that millions of Egyptians depend on to live. Development is not the problem, refusing binding guarantees on shared water security is 🙂

@TobiasWhales @mak_eyee Many of you miss the key point. Poorly trained drivers contribute to more crashes on the Entebbe express way than speeders. Many drivers have no clue about correct lane use and signals (keep left unless overtaking). Others don't care about hazards on wet days.

@mak_eyee I don't get a reason why someone who is driving from kla to Entebbe would be driving above 100km/hr. I would understand 120km/hr max for someone driving to Mbarara maybe.

I think many people will agree that the Northern Bypass and the Kampala–Entebbe Expressway are some of the most dangerous roads around Kampala. Recently, Rajiv Ruparelia, Sudhir's son, got an accident on the Expressway. Yesterday, Master Parrot was also involved in an accident on the Northern Bypass. These roads seem to have accidents almost every day, although many go unnoticed. The roads are in good condition and have no major potholes. So what is causing so many accidents? Could the problem be with the drivers? Am not here to judge.

@mak_eyee No, they are not the most dangerous roads especially Entebbe express. The speeds on Entebbe express register very few crashes often resulting from poor judgment on wet days and alcohol abuse. There are more deaths elsewhere attributed to boda boda.

I took this photo at Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital around May last year. For those who don't know what medical interns actually do, let me share a small story. One night as a medical student, I decided to spend time in theatre to learn. I was working with an intern doctor who was on call. That night, she had 6 emergency Caesarean sections to perform. I assisted in the first 3 surgeries and by around 3 am I was exhausted. I told her I was going to sleep because I had lectures at 8 am. the next morning. She smiled and told me to go. The next day, after my lectures, I passed through the postnatal ward and found the same doctor reviewing patients. She had worked through the night, spent hours in theatre, and was still on the wards attending to mothers. That was the day I truly understood that internship is not just another year of training. It is frontline hospital work. When people hear "intern," they often imagine someone observing and learning. In reality, many interns are reviewing patients, responding to emergencies, assisting and performing procedures, covering night shifts, and helping keep hospitals running. As the debate on intern allowances continues, I keep thinking about that night in Kayunga. If we expect young doctors to carry that level of responsibility and workload, can we honestly say their welfare doesn't matter?

@CliffArtsUg In so doing they reveal an inferiority complex to Buganda/Baganda. All they are revealing is that Buganda is "central" to all Uganda's affairs. Geographically, central Uganda is around Lake Kyoga including parts of Bunyoro, Buganda, Busoga and Teso. One can't change reality🤗

@UgandaMediaCent @katurebeobed The problem is many do not know the definition of "aggressive driving". Back in the days, there was a TV show called "Road Safety" presented by Afande Fred Yiga. Today useless soaps and grim news is a priority on national TV. Aggressive driving can be caused by third parties too.

@RichardMbayo Geographically, the central region should be around Lake Kyoga including Bunyoro, Buganda, Busoga and Teso. The hatred for Buganda is existential, but in an attempt to erase it, they made it stronger. Hence, Central came from being centre to all Ugandan affairs and business.

But who is responsible for branding Buganda “Central region” where other regions retain they original traditional status. For instance, I am from BUKEDI (Kibuku, Pallisa, Busia, Tororo, Butaleja & Butebo). Is that person who said: Make sure that Bagandas don’t get numbers.
