Android For Robots is Happening… I’ve been thinking about OM1 from @openmind_agi, and the more I look into it, the more it feels like one of those foundational things. Robotics today is funny. Hardware is getting insane, funding is everywhere, demos look cool. But most robots still feel like expensive toys. Because the real bottleneck is software. Everything is fragmented. Every robot has its own ecosystem, its own tooling, and you basically start from scratch again and again. That’s why OpenMind's OM1 is interesting to me. Not because it’s some magical “AI robot breakthrough”. But because it’s trying to become a common OS layer for robots, like what Android did for phones. I don’t know if OM1 becomes “the standard”. Robotics is messy and adoption takes time. But if an open robotics OS ever goes mainstream, it probably starts from something like this. Curious what you think. Is OM1 actually that missing layer robotics needs?
