@Kate_Bradbury Perhaps the biggest thing you can do to help is vote for governments who will take the strongest action on climate. No other issue is more urgent.

The House of Lords Appointments Commission *unanimously* objected to his peerage but Boris Johnson awarded it anyway. A few days after taking his seat in the Lords, Cruddas gave half a million quid to the Tory party.

Lord Peter Cruddas, "If Labour wins they will reduce the voting age, abolish voter ID, and introduce Proportional Representation making it impossible for the Conservative party to win an outright majority in the future." Conservative Democratic Organisation

A linguistic and cultural division exists between moths and butterflies that biology cannot justify. They all belong to an insect superradiation dating back to approximately 300 million years ago. All require the same degree of protection today. #MothsMatter @savebutterflies

@capabilitycharl @PlasticsRebel Those that don't understand this have probably never been sexually assaulted, and can't take the word of the huge number of women who have, that it is an all-too-common occurrence. Some of them are likely to have committed sexual assault themselves. The others are enablers.

@BugsBeautiful I’m going to try and stop using that guilt inducing, naggy word “should”. Remove it from my own decision making - no more “should I should do this”, and no more saying it to others “you should do that”. More want, less should, lol

Happy New Year! A few years ago I decided to give up 1 society expected “thing” every year. So far I’ve given up make up, going to social events I don’t want to go to, and most of the commercialised hype of Christmas. Can thoroughly recommend as a New Year resolution! 😂

@Jazeyfantazy @PADI Thank you! It's so strange that some divers don't even notice, or make the connections between, terrible oceanic environmental degradations and the huge footprint of long-haul diving trips. How can they not see it?!🤦 Glad people are speaking out!

The Starlings seem to concentrate on the area of lawn that is full of Catsear while hunting using their funny gape-mouthed technique - are there more grubs (perhaps Crane Fly?) among these roots than among rye grass roots?

Much to our excitement we had this stunning Death-Head Hawk Moth in recently. These moths are easily distinguishable by the vaguely human skull-shaped pattern of markings on the thorax. You may recognise it as the moth made famous by the 1991 Silence of the lamb’s film.

Oh wow, this Strangler was found by a member of the group yesterday but noone knew what it was. It's since been identified as the Strathy Strangler (Squamanita pearsonii) 😍 This species is only known from 12 sites globally and I think this is the 3rd British record!
