Years ago I would ship out print orders via USPS. But USPS lost a ton of customers' orders--which led to a lot of frustration on their part and mine. So I switched to UPS, and all was well. For a while. Then UPS (and FedEx) started adding a surcharge of ~$12 per shipment for cylindrical items. I tried long rectangular boxes, but they crush easily; tried shipping flat, but it's just not feasible for large-format prints; and I tried tubes inside rectangular boxes or triangular boxes, which just takes more time per order. So I reluctantly went back to USPS, bc tubes are just the most convenient package for shipping prints. What I'm looking for: a package that has the benefits of a tube--long and capped--that isn't a cylinder, so that I can continue to ship UPS or FedEx. If anyone knows of such a thing, please let me know.
