@HannahGraceLong ahhhh this movie went so multiplatinum in my mind & heart that it's hard to imagine it was a flop! Isaacs' Hook (and Mr. Darling) were SO good, it made me understand the theater convention of casting the same actor for both. It's such a good adaptation.

Jason Isaacs' career suffered so much he said he didn't think he'd work again. Also unjust! He's really good as both Hook and Mr. Darling.

Rewatched 2003's live-action PETER PAN. It's perhaps a little indulgent in length, but it's leap years ahead on emotion and intelligence from most blockbusters today--and keeps a lot of the book's edge and heart. Excellent kid performances. Tragic that it was a flop.

When a spiritual practitioner tells me they're trying to work through some incredibly thorny emotional issue, using every technique known to man, but it's just not moving... I just tell them, try 30 days sober from everything. All drugs, even the "healthy" and "therapeutic" ones. They usually get pretty pissed at me but if they go through with it, big shocker, they move the emotional issue at the end of week one. Just saying
