1903. There were only 150 miles of paved road in the entire country, and most people had never seen a car.
Dr. Horatio Nelson Jackson bet $50 he could drive one from San Francisco to New York City. He didn't own a car, had almost no driving experience, and didn't have a single map.
He bought a used Winton touring car, hired a mechanic named Sewall Crocker, and headed east. Somewhere in Idaho, they picked up a bulldog named Bud for $15 and put goggles on him to keep the dust out of his eyes.
63 days, 4,200 miles, and 800 gallons of gas later, they rolled into New York City. The car broke down 15 miles from home on the last stretch to Vermont.
Bud's goggles are still at the Smithsonian.

Incredible to see COT data this week where speculators got MORE SHORT the S&P 500, Nasdaq & Russell.
This is the MOST SHORT speculators have been of the Nasdaq since August of 2023, while we're one day off the highs.
May only need a bit days of chop before the rally continues.

The absolute worst feeling would be for me to be loaded up in the NQ pit one way or another and have Tudor coming in with HUGE size th other way. Richard Dennis would give us a chance to cover or get right sided. Tudor just came in an bulldozed us with relentless size all day. He was/is one of the greatest of all time.
The best feeling would be for me to be short 50-100 big NQ(not minis) and have Tudor come in selling them. I would LOAD up.

Moody’s Analytics’ latest report confirms what many of us know and what Gov. Pritzker been attempting to cover up: Illinois is in deep economic trouble.
Citing below average population trends, deep-rooted fiscal problems, persistent outmigration, and a shrinking tax base, Moody’s outlook for the state is bleak.
Moody’s report references recent studies found on WalletHub that rank Illinois first in combined taxes and fees and last in equity. A Wirepoints report also outlined the fact the private sector has experienced virtually no employment growth since COVID hit in 2020.
In two terms, Pritzker’s legacy is built on 55 tax and fee increases costing taxpayers over $7 billion a year, financial mismanagement reflected in the State Auditor General's finding of $5.2 billion in unemployment insurance fraud, and $2.5 billion spent on migrant health care, many times what was projected.
“Persistent out-migration will weigh on the strength of employment and income gains” according to Moody’s, as Illinois is replacing middle and upper income residents with lower income residents, many of whom are now migrants and a majority of whom are dependent on government.
