The HBCU Climate Change Conference continued strong in New Orleans 🎉 Dr. Beverly Wright opened with an Ancestral Welcome and set the tone with a powerful “Setting the Stage” conversation ✊🏾 The day moved through expert, community, and student panels pushing real conversations on climate justice. Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr. delivered a keynote that brought urgency and focus. Dr. Robert D. Bullard and Dr. Liza T Powers shared findings from the Green Light to Pollute in Texas report, grounding the work in data and impact. 🏆 Donele Wilkins was honored as the 2026 Damu Smith Power of One Award recipient. Big pride moment seeing Texas Southern University students and HBCU EJ Climate Corps alumni take the stage and show out 👏🏾🔥 The night closed with a film panel on Art as Resistance 🎬 Day 2 delivered.
