I’m not gonna argue against the influences trinidad gave the world thats not my gripe. Byron Lee pioneered modern day carnival in the 90s but uwi carnival was already here for years due to trini people at the school it was brought here by your people. Be respectful.

@MissRheaDawn Barbados is kinda flat though, most other islands have hills. I think only northern part of the islands have some hills. It's small and overpopulated. Where you want them to put the buildings?

Stupse I back here because even the view from the sea is abysmal. When I go cruising in the other islands I’m so taken aback by the lushness and sheer beauty of the land, but all we can see here is beach chairs and buildings. It burns my belly.

This is why I'm not a fan of saying Snackidad is the birthplace of Carnival. Carnival in different islands evolved from celebrations by our ancestors in the 1700s/1800s.

The ancestors from the French Caribbean islands are *the* reason we have terms like J’Ouvert etc. PLUS carnival grew in Trinidad via the migration of those ancestors into Trinidad after the French planters were given tax breaks via the Cédula de Población in 1783

@BrayForJade Jamaica is relatively huge, if someone dont have a car or access they probably not gonna be just exploring everything like that. Its the same for most other islands with any type of size to it. Even people in smaller islands aint do a lot on their island.

I have met several Jamaican people who haven’t even been to the 14 parishes in their own country, much less travel out the country.
Some people just see no reason to venture outside what they see and know.

Growing up in Vincy we had to fly to other islands for a visa, had to transit through other islands to go "foreign" because we had no international airport, we had to go overseas for university etc. I understand why Jamaicans, Trinis are more ignorant of the other islands.
