@Kasecoke Byron Lee pioneer Ja carnival. You choose to focus on after an entire tweet pushing back against the original tweet from the Jamaican person? It's a knockoff carnival, Jamaica had junkanoo history not Carnival Call a thing a thing. Just like Trinibad is a knockoff Dancehall.

Caricom, business, Kwame Ture Black power, Althea Le Cointe, Henry Sylvester Williams, Pan Africanism, Steelpan, Limbo, Calypso, Soca, Brian Lara, first Blk Miss Universe, First for Emancipation Day. Caribbean Carnivals spreading the world e.g the Jamaica knockoff.

A lot of Guyanese and Haitians are feeling left out of this Caribbean tour thing. I wish he could have done more.

All these islands just showing me how much Barbados coastal area’s overdeveloped. Barely any windows to the sea between the south and west coasts.

guadeloupe is EXTREMELY well developed wow

The ancestors from the French Caribbean islands are *the* reason we have terms like J’Ouvert etc. PLUS carnival grew in Trinidad via the migration of those ancestors into Trinidad after the French planters were given tax breaks via the Cédula de Población in 1783

just joined the 8% of black men with a master’s degree 🎓

Anybody attacking this man for this statement is not right in the head. The two biggest countries in the Caribbean are Jamaica and Trinbago and he's basically saying that both of them either don't know or care to know about the smaller islands. And he is right.

the BEST Music Festival in the region … follow your heart 🥹

Growing up in Vincy we had to fly to other islands for a visa, had to transit through other islands to go "foreign" because we had no international airport, we had to go overseas for university etc. I understand why Jamaicans, Trinis are more ignorant of the other islands.
