Why I bought $WORM and believe that it's the most fundamentally unique coin on Solana. At its core, $WORM is the first immortal life form, living on the blockchain. A worm is one of two animals that have had its neurons completely mapped out by scientists. With this information, a neural network has been made that simulates exactly how their brain works, allowing for movement and biological processes controlled by only the worm. Normally, a worm moves based on various environmental factors, but now those inputs are transactions on chain (buy, sell, transfer). I've stayed away from "AI/LLM" based coins because I think that they are all pieces of the same pie, with a different logo slapped on them. The worm is different because it is an autonomous, decentralized brain. Unlike models like ChatGPT, the worm doesn't do what we tell it to; it acts on its own accord. While the worm as it currently stands cannot participate in complex functions like learning and growing, the foundation has been laid for something of that nature to arise. Infact, the team has already begun to build on this initial foundation, as yesterday, they announced that the neural simulation will run on @MarlinProtocol. As a result, the neural simulation will now run in TEE. This part gets technical, but stick with me. A Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) is a secure area in a computer’s main processor that runs sensitive computations in isolation from the rest of the system, protecting them from potential threats. In $WORM's case, TEE ensures that the worm’s neural simulation is processed securely and can’t be tampered with. This setup gives $WORM an additional layer of authenticity and verifiability, reinforcing it as a true autonomous digital life form. Merlin allows for the neural architecture to come to life on-chain, with users being able to interact with its brain in real time through an immersive terminal interface. This interface will show live neural visualizations with energy levels influencing the worm’s behavior. Token-based interactions will enable dynamic engagement, with all computation verified by TEE for authenticity. This is truly the tip of the iceberg for the worm. From a scientific perspective, projects like @deepwormxyz allow for attention and support for the development of technology that has never been seen before. I love how @ryanology045 expanded on what the future of the worm looks like, and I urge you to go read his thread (linked below) if you're interested in the gamification, immortalization, or further expansion of the $WORM.
