@muirtwit Looking well. Are they spring born or autumn? Out full time? Getting concentrate? Looking at turning some out this week
English

@brianjcorr1 Interested to hear- did these stay on? Worth doing?
English

@Graiseconsult1 Sorry to tag on- but after some feb calvers - preferably cows but could take heifers- to go to the UK
English

@brianjcorr1 What is your water system on the hill? Do you have reservoirs? Pumps? We have a block of hill ground for heifers- looking at options for paddocking and getting water everywhere
English

@brianjcorr1 What age are they. Also what will they be on post weaning?
English

@BunterJones It's just to make individual management and teat training easier, they will be in groups of 15 from about a week old onwards. We do have issues with cross suckling, tried lots of different things but nothing really works!
English

@brianjcorr1 We’ve just got one of these- what age are you putting them on it? Are you pulling anything slow drinking out of group?
English

@LeverettFarming @richrobscows1 How long are you leaving calves on cows?
English

@richrobscows1 Not fed calves for years unless they clearly haven’t had any. Zero losses for 2 seasons now. Agree calving outside/space is crucial to stop cross sucking and better mothering
English

@ProperJobPinker We have 100ish in calf pedigree organic Holsteins for sale- calved from jan - apr. Back in calf for feb onwards. High health, good pedigree- just going to autumn block. 07525277877
English

@LeverettFarming Going to feed in field for 1st time this autumn. Are the hurdles for getting in and out of the field without them following you out?
English

@farmermat1 We grow it for wholecrop- analyses poorly but feeds much better. May combine it this year
English

@muirtwit Looking good. Out of interest- what height is your clamp roof? Would you do same height if doing again? Just about to cover one and figuring out how heigh to go
English

@steffcwrtmalle @DrAseemMalhotra Just listened to it- sounds fairly familiar to a lot of the ‘independent research’ in dairy sector!
English

Highly recommend this #JRE podcast with @DrAseemMalhotra #OverMedicatedPopulation #HealthCrisis. open.spotify.com/episode/43D9PM…
English

@m_herbert Intresting - was it traditionally beef and sheep land for a reason? High altitude? Thin soils? Over in UK seeing a few conversions- job to know what’s suitable and what’s not…
English

@Sam_Adams_1 @PhilNash2 Also running sensehub and very pleased with it. Have you looked at incidents of health alerts? Over the winter we had 16% of cows come up at some stage. Don’t know if this is good, bad or indifferent? Conscious that you could end up spending a lot jumping on everything??
English

@PhilNash2 I’ve got SH, know lots of people with CM. Both brilliant. Back up with SH has been very good. Looking at the Apps side by side CM needs a bit more interpretation but easy once you know what your looking at. Anyone could pick up heats and Heath on SH. Comes down to cost I think?
