A one sided game is still played by two sides and you can score runs on both sides of the wicket. Just one of those fascinating idiosyncrasies of our beautiful game.

Uber's CTO told @LauraBratton5 that AI coding tools—particularly Anthropic’s Claude Code—has already maxed out its 2026 AI budget 📈 “I'm back to the drawing board, because the budget I thought I would need is blown away already,” Neppalli Naga said. theinformation.com/newsletters/ap…

@zuess05 In the last few years scrum management has become an added responsibility of the team lead / engineering manager So scrum master maybe was already long gone If anything companies would give out more contracts for agile coaches in this AI era

@zuess05 I see value in agile coaches But for majority of the cases the good ones are not full time employees they just work on contracts Product managers , it depends on a lot of things I have worked with PM’s who were really good , there are exceptions though

The tech industry is finally waking up to the biggest grift of the last decade. You don't need a Product Manager. You don't need a Scrum Master. You don't need an Agile Coach. Entire careers were built on just interrupting the two guys who actually know how to code.

@EthanEvansVP A lot of times managers don’t deliver feedback so that they can use it as a leverage at the last point when it comes to appraisals

This week’s newsletter guest, Robert Glazer is going to teach you to do exactly that. His article explains exactly when and how to give direct feedback so that employees are not surprised in their annual reviews. He covers how to be clear and direct while still focusing on the work and what needs to improve, so that the employee can get a clear idea of what to do without having their feelings hurt. This is a great article from Robert. You can read it here: levelupwithethanevans.substack.com/p/the-leadersh…

If your employee is surprised by their annual review, you have failed them. It is a manager’s duty to deliver critical feedback promptly, clearly, and regularly to their reports. This is simple, but it is not easy.

International crude prices have gone through the roof in the last 1 month from around 70 dollars/barrel to around 122 dollars/barrel. Consequently, petrol and diesel prices for consumers have gone up all over the world. Prices have increased by around 30%-50% in South East Asian countries, 30% in North American countries, 20% in Europe and 50% in African countries. The Modi Government had two choices- either increase prices drastically for citizens of Bharat as all other nations have done or bear the brunt on its finances so that Indian citizen is insulated from international volatility. Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji, in keeping with his Government’s commitment of last 4 years since the conflict in Russia-Ukraine started, decided to take a hit on its own finances again to safeguard the Indian citizen. Government has taken a huge hit on it taxation revenues to ensure very high losses of oil companies (approximately 24 Rs/litre for petrol and 30 Rs/litre for diesel) at this time of sky high international prices are reduced. At the same time, export tax has been levied as international prices of petrol and diesel have skyrocketed and any refinery exporting to foreign nations will have to pay export tax. My gratitude to Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble FM @nsitharaman Ji for this very timely, bold and visionary decision!

Distinction Between Guts and Balls Guts: Coming home late after a night out with the boys, being met at the door by your wife with a broom, and having the guts to ask, “Are you still cleaning, or are you flying somewhere?” Balls: Coming home late after a night out with the boys, smelling of perfume and beer, with lipstick on your collar, slapping your wife on the butt and saying, “You’re next, Chubby.” Medically speaking, there is no difference in the outcome. Both result in death. 💀

@BuntyBru @509097322 When we had a party to celebrate my older son’s birth, Javaid Uncle called me aside to where there was a bar for all the uncles and poured me a beer to drink with him. Deep inside I was so scared. 😂

Mount Assisi School, Bhagalpur. I think this was 1982 or 1983, I left for Welham in 1984. I'm the disinterested kid (looking away) in the center, top row. I still remember the names of most kids in this picture, actually still friends with a couple of them.

@BuntyBru @509097322 Javaid Uncle and Papa were childhood friends, very close. He taught me during my vacations too, though that was quite a different side of him. 😂😂 What a character he was, the epitome of wit and dry humor. Do you remember Daniel, the guard at the main gate in Mr Assisi?

I think that’s what her name was, not 100 percent sure. Mrs Bose was my nursery teacher. Others I remember were Miss Mary Kutty, Mr Paul, Mr Majumdar; the principal was Father Job. And of course the legendary Javaid Uncle, the famous math genius who was my father’s closest friend.

As a person who takes nearly 100 flights a year - I have one strong recommendation for you. Don’t fly @airindia. Avoid it like the plague. This is an airline which has no consideration for its customers, including its loyal, frequent traveling and high paying customers. It is a disgrace to the airline industry, and to India itself. They will cheat and scam you at every possible opportunity to the last rupee. They will shock you with their level of pettiness and stupidity. Save your money. Save your time. Don’t give them business out of goodwill or emotions. They don’t deserve it. This company should be forced to drop “India” from its name. It is a blot on @TataCompanies. The only benefit of privatizing this rotten company was it saved the government exchequer thousands of crores of rupees. It is a strategic failure and a national embarrassment (given that it carries “India” in its name).

In Bihar, even among Sarayupareen Brahmin families who follow the Shakta tradition (like my father’s side), mutton is prepared on the day of #Holi & traditionally eaten with pua. On the other hand, in Vaishnav Brahmin families (like my mother’s side), it is customary to serve pua with vegetables & dahi-vada.
