When I carry my S&W 638 I also carry a couple reloads on speed strips, sometimes in my pocket but usually in a flapped belt pouch. It’s mostly just to *have* a bit extra ammo on me though, as I have no realistic expectation of being able to rapidly reload a J-Frame in a gunfight
