@doctorhelgi @ShaunLintern Now that’s lazy and untrue Doctor, a simple Cochrane search finds tens of papers that support TEDS use. I do accept that the GAPS paper shows no benefit when drugs are used. Thus in the cohort that shows had high quality evidence (surgical) the effect is nullified due to heparin

@Burtonsmithy @ShaunLintern I don’t think there’s any evidence for them even with no chemical prophylaxis. And some evidence against them, pressure sores, ischaemia etc.

@ShaunLintern Would be great for morale, retention and flexibility of work and save on administration. Next one: abolish TED stockings. Good evidence they don’t work and may even cause harm, saves £38 million per year and frees up hours of nursing time.

Trainee asked why I use epidural catheter to deliver LA via flexiscope, rather than spray with a syringe via the working channel. I’ve said you get better spread. Decided to do a blue Peter experiment with my daughter with toilet roll as the trachea. Left = spray, R = catheter
