At the risk of getting myself more involved in this discourse, even if I personally understand, respect, and even agree with Toby’s view on how he should handle localization, I still think people are 100% allowed to criticize his view and even not be satisfied with his statement

@Butler_Swatch @slimyKris He has had ten years, multiple indie games with less people working have had multiple languages available in just a couple years, he is lazy for only speaking out now that people are complaining and not doing so from the start

Silksong had official Chinese translation when it came out and a lot of Chinese fans HATED it because it was done so horribly and so many inaccuracy until fans did translation for them All I’m saying is that you can’t just hire a translator to translate a game for you (1/2)

Anyway, I have no problem with that kind of stuff now. After all, game hacking leads to things like fan translations, which are great.

Professional translators still fucked up the entire ending of kingdom hearts 3 the word professional doesn't mean anything here when the fanfic issue comes mostly from official translations 😭😭😭

I'm speaking as a latina here: people are right to be dissapointed by the lack of translation, even frustrated, but some of you don't know how to express that without resorting to extreme black and white thinking and villainizing Toby. We're not being singlehandedly left out...
