I’d also like to point out (being an avid history fan) that Britain was considerably hotter during the Roman occupation, especially around the third century AD. This is why so many of our roads have “Vine” or “Vineyard” in the name, as the Romans commonly grew grapes and olives. So, average temperatures are cyclical across millennia. I’m not disputing the fact we should look after our environment - and of course we should limit the toxic gases we pump into the air, but there is no proof that emissions have caused the rise in temperature over the past 120 years.

UK politicians need to stop lying to the British public. The UK's problems won't be solved by blaming migrants, refugees, or Muslims. Our economy has been stagnating for years because we haven't generated the growth needed to improve living standards. There is no quick fix. No miracle cure. No easy scapegoat. Recovery will take years, possibly a decade. Politicians should stop pretending otherwise and start treating the public like adults.

It’s a heatwave, my lads are grafting on site, working their arse off in the full H&S clobber under the summer sun. Most main contractors permit that site operatives must wear full 5 point PPE and forbid shorts on-site, even in this sweltering weather. However… Section 11 of the Employment Act 1989. This bit of legislation grants Sikhs the a special exception to not wear a helmet on site, if they chose to do so. Why, in the extreme weather conditions like today, must my lads struggle on site and risk falling ill in the heat. Can an exemption not be made for them to wear shorts during harsh conditions like today? Meanwhile Sikhs are exempt from wearing arguably the most critical bit of PPE all year round. This is beyond H&S. Yet again it’s another example of the state bending over backwards to grant exceptions and privileges to a foreign minority over the natives.
