Miami OH vs SMU in the first four in Dayton. I gotta be honest. I just punched a hole through my TV. They lost ONE game and have to play in Dayton! My blood is BOILING just typing this!

FINAL: Fairmont 45, Pickerington Central 41 Fairmont is 27-0. The Firebirds will play Princeton in the Division I state championship game at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at UD Arena. Nico Cornett led Fairmont with 15 points.

Julian Sam had 20 points, Sam Keely had 12 and Ty Rohrer add 10 for Centerville, which finished its season 18-7. The Elks won the GWOC for the seventh straight season with no seniors on their roster.

FINAL: Pickerington Central 63, Centerville 59. The Elks trailed by one point with a minute remaining, but a controversial technical foul gave the Tigers four foul shots. They made all four to push the lead to five points. The Elks cut it to three points, but couldn't get closer.

It's a light Thursday slate of Dayton area tournament games with only a pair of contests taking place at Butler HS.

FINAL: Tecumseh 55, Stebbins 47 Chase Stafford leads the Arrows to the win with 28 points. Tecumseh (14-10) advances to play No. 1 Badin at 1 pm Saturday at UD Arena in the D3 district finals. Stebbins finishes 16-8 overall.

FINAL: Fairmont 64, Newark 39. The Firebirds advance to face either Olentangy or Berea-Midpark in the D-I, Region 2 final at 6 p.m. Friday at the Ohio Expo Center’s Taft Coliseum.

Half: Fairmont 40, Newark 18. Firebirds sophomore Maliyah Bailey hit a 3 right before the half to give Fairmont its biggest lead of the game.

Half: Emmanuel Christian 35, Twin Valley South 25. The Lions trailed by eight early in the second quarter, without scored the Panthers 22 to 4 the rest of the way to grab the lead. Nathan Hudson and Jaden Thomas each have 12 points for ECA.

FINAL: Badin 66, Alter 55 The GCL Co-ed is tied at the top between the Rams and Knights at 6-2. Badin never let Alter get within 10 during the fourth quarter.

Final: Fairmont 54, Springfield 46. McGraw had 16 and Ralston had 14 as the Firebirds overcame a six-point halftime deficit to improve to 5-4.

Fourth quarter: Fairmont 41, Springfield 38, six minutes to go. Jayden McGraw had eights points in the third quarter for the Firebirds.

Half: Springfield 27, Fairmont 21. Charles Cunningham has seven points for the Cats. They’ve never trailed in the game.
