@C_3C_3 And the result is, movies start resembling ticky tacky houses on the hillside. No character, just ticks for the prize.

To be eligible to win Best Picture at the Oscars… 1. At least 1 Non-White/Non-Straight lead or Significant Role. 2. At least 30% minor roles Non-White/Non-Straight people. 3. At least 2 Departments headed by Non-White/Non-Straight people. This is why Nolan did it. Coward.

When I was younger, we respected our school bus driver and sat in our seats talking quietly amongst ourselves. Nowadays children have little respect and act out. What has changed so much? This bus driver took it to the police station. Hopefully they learned a lesson.

The kids are more than alright, they're extraordinary. And, incredibly, the bus driver has made a 100% full recovery. Last Wednesday, on a seemingly ordinary day in Mississippi, a school bus driver suffered a severe asthma attack. She blacked out behind the wheel. The bus loaded with 40 children, was hurtling down a busy four-lane highway. Disaster felt inevitable. But instead of chaos, these kids showed grit and unshakable courage. Five middle schoolers immediately sprang into action in a scene straight out of an edge-of-your-seat thriller. A 12-year-old seized the wheel, steering the bus away from catastrophe. Another kid slammed on the air brakes, grinding the bus to a halt in the median, averting disaster. One student dialed 911 with trembling fingers but an unshakable resolve. Meanwhile, another hero-in-training searched for the driver’s nebulizer and personally administered her life-saving medication. None of these kids waited for an adult to save the day. They became the adults right then, right there.

A men had eight acres… and instead of building a massive house, he did something no one expected. He went to Home Depot, bought a simple shed, and turned it into his entire home. Not temporary, intentional. Then he added a pool. A trampoline. Space, freedom, and a setup that looked simple on the outside… but completely different from what people imagine “success” should look like. At first, people laughed. A shed? Really? But the more you look at it, the more it flips the script. No huge mortgage. No overwhelming maintenance. Just land, privacy, and a lifestyle he actually chose. It’s not flashy, but it’s his. And somehow, that makes it feel bigger than a house ever could. Now everyone’s asking the same thing; is this crazy… or kind of genius? Sometimes the best life isn’t the biggest one; it’s the one that actually works for you. If you had the land to do this… would you build a traditional house, or take a risk and live completely differently?

@Here_s_Hoping I prefer to use old pillowcases, because the cotton is thicker and softer. My advice, use them! They will last you years, you’ll never have to buy new again.

Dilemma. What do I do with these embroidered pillowcases ? They were given to my mom at her wedding. They were embroidered by her grandma, my great great grandma. My mom never used them because /she “couldn’t ever replace them” after her grandma passed. She kept them in the linen closet in the house I grew up in. She gave them to me when I got married and yes, I’ve also kept them unused in my linen closet for 20 years. I don’t want to get rid of them (I won’t). Do I use them or keep them safely store me for future generations to not use, either?

Bill Maher asks how the government is “failing the poor so badly” when he pays “60 PERCENT” of his earnings in taxes. “Last week was tax day… I paid the government probably almost 60% of what I earn. That’s a lot.” “And I… wouldn’t mind if Bernie Sanders would stop saying the rich don’t pay taxes.” “The top 10% pay 72% of all federal income taxes. And the bottom half, 3%.” “The Democratic Socialists talk about socialism like we don’t already have a lot: Social Security, unemployment, Medicare, nutritional assistance, Medicaid, Obamacare, disability, housing subsidies.” “How can you be soaking the rich and failing the poor so badly? How can it be that the federal government alone took in over 5 trillion in taxes last year, and we still need that?” “Are we really this incompetent and corrupt?”
