Bryce Hopkins has been a standout of the Nuggets Summer League team throughout the first two games: -Physicality, footwork, and extra gear as a driver has stood out. -Versatile transition finishing using that left to right spin. -Athleticism as a wing rebounder

I don’t see how the Milwaukee Bucks realistically get Peyton Watson. There’s two reasons for my skepticism: 1. Milwaukee has the salary matching, the issue is it doesn’t fit for Denver alone. It’s 100% a multi team deal. Kuzma, AJ Green, Kevin Porter Jr., that’s the group of players because Milwaukee is going to take in $28M-$30M from Watson. Even with a multi team deal it gets messy. 2. Is Milwaukee going to just trade all the draft capital they got for Giannis for Peyton Watson? Essentially that’s what they’re doing. They don’t have any much future draft capital to give Denver besides the MIA picks.

@RFreemyer Honestly if they parted with 1 first and 2 seconds, I would be happy or if they absorbed Zeke's contract and gave us 2 seconds that would be great too

The Bucks have a $25.5M trade exception Watson could fit into so they make sense as a destination that wouldn't have to send players back to the Nuggets to make a deal work.

@HarrisonWind I mean Denver should run a 12 deep roster in the regular season but Jones and Pwat do not look like part of the equation.

I think Alpha Diallo is going to play next season and wonder if this could spell the end for Spencer Jones 🛑

The Nuggets are in a similar spot to last offseason in regards to creators. Murray, Watson (RFA, secondary creator), and Strawther (given the minutes, secondary creator). The need to add another backup PG that can create remains, would have to be via trade

After watching exactly one Alpha Diallo highlight reel, I see a poor man’s Toumani Camara. Pretty good athleticism and size. Can guard 1-4 and protect the rim. Camara is a better shooter but Diallo clearly likes to run and drive. Should be a good cutter. Interesting signing.

With Alpha Diallo and Trevon Brazile on the books, I have the Nuggets at 12 players on standard contracts for next season. That doesn’t include RFAs Peyton Watson or Spencer Jones and second-round pick Bryce Hopkins. I expect Denver will start the season with an open spot again.
