The treble/quadruple Arsenal talk started in January if not before That's setting an impossible bar that's been reached almost never in football history. If they win the Premier League, that IS a massive success. Reaching the CL quarter-finals, on the back of the semis last year, IS success. They are growing. Comparing them to the greatest sides in history and then criticise them every time they fall short, more than holding them to high standards, is IMO just a way to deny them credit for what they're actually achieving. Having said that, today is certainly a disappointment. Both statements are true.

Four points between 14th and fifth, for now at least. I think that speaks to a league that has never been deeper with good teams (15th and 16th aren't too shabby either). Probably not as many very good teams as four or five years ago but there are barely a handful of easy wins.

@jamesbenge I agree Gyokeres needs to be on his toes more there has been a few times this season when he has been watching the play rather than anticipating it. I think that mikel shud show the whole team how he scored them to create pictures for the midfielders/wingers.

Very hard to know if something is simply fitting into the preconceived notions you have but could Gyokeres have got a nick on that Martinelli shot? Feels like this a player too often on his heels when the ball is in the box.

@GeorgeV_AFC The problem with the decision is Pope is not trying to play the ball he has come out and made himself as big as possible hence why that foot is out wide. So it's a penalty the fact the ball hits his foot is irrelevant.

I’m not here for silly takes about Arteta but he’s never immune to criticism and I think it’s clear he made the wrong team selection today. Has to go down as a missed opportunity, we are a much better team than Manchester City. Long season though, keep the heads up and learn
