@C0719 @AbyssinalR @MrLeeSensei @Pirat_Nation Uh… you got a video to prove that? Im finding that hard to believe because you need internet to download anything. You literally need internet to download a disk game. Playing it without internet ? Yes you can IF that account is homed on that system.

PlayStation support has confirmed that a new digital rights management policy for the console is intentional, not a glitch. Starting with any digital games purchased after the March 2026 system update, your PS5 will require an internet connection at least once every 30 days to validate the license. If the console stays offline longer than that, the games simply will not launch until you reconnect. This change does not affect any titles already in your library. Setting a console as your primary system also will not bypass the monthly check-in.

So, @PlayStation is basically unusable for me now. The UK Online Safety Act means I have to hand over a face scan or government ID just to use basic features. My PAYG mobile isn't accepted, and I’m not giving biometrics to a company with a history of massive data breaches. #Ps5

@Hinzoto1 There isn't a point to consoles anymore. As long as you're paying, the convenience stays but as soon as you stop console become a trial to deal with. I remember having Internet outages and I just couldn't play a game I was playing on Xbox 360. I ended up turning on my PS2.

Looks like PlayStation is putting "DRM" into any game (even single player). Basically, the unique advantage of console to keep everything offline is dead. No more PlayStation in my life.
