@TimHannan Envy is a mental illness. So is not understanding the difference between capital and wealth, comrade.

@ModernCeasar the entertaining thing around the critique is how it is mostly just ad hominems on Aurelius or on Ivanka and not actual criticism with substance

Stoicism is not a philosophy of passivity. It is a worldview that teaches you to live in virtue. If you want to learn more about real Stoicism I recommend following this account. Michael is the only real stoic you will find online.
Michael McGill 🏛@mcgillmd921

I've seen a lot of hate directed towards Stoicism over the last couple of days, since the Ryan Holiday/Ivanka Trump video was posted by the Daily Stoic. One of the main complains seems to be that Stoicism teaches people to be "apathetic" about the events of their lives. I’m not sure how Stoicism got this bad reputation of being a passive “who gives a shit” philosophy. When I read the works of the Stoics, I am inspired to be an active participant in life, to care, and to give my very best. Case in point… Epictetus “How long are you going to wait before you demand the best for yourself? You are no longer a boy, but a full-grown man. If you are careless and lazy now and keep putting things off and always deferring the day after which you will attend to yourself, you will not notice that you are making no progress, but you will live and die as someone quite ordinary.” Seneca “Let us therefore set out whole-heartedly, leaving aside our many distractions and exert ourselves in this single purpose, before we realize too late the swift and unstoppable flight of time and are left behind. As each day arises, welcome it as the very best day of all, and make it your own possession. We must seize what flees.” Marcus Aurelius “To move from one unselfish action to another with God in mind. Only there, delight and stillness.” These don’t sound at all like words of doom and gloom from pessimists or uncaring nihilists. These are the words of men who encouraged us to care for the things worth caring for and actively participate in life. Marcus Aurelius was a Roman Emperor. Seneca was a prolific writer and political advisor. Epictetus was the most respected teacher of Stoicism in his time. These were not men who idly sat by and let life happen to them. They were proactively engaged in life. To me, Stoicism is a philosophy of (right) action. It empowers me. It gives me agency to accept the things I can’t control and focus all my valuable energy on the things I can control. And don’t mistake acceptance for passivity. Acceptance is one of the most powerful actions you can take. It’s about staking your claim on the things you choose to give your valuable attention to. Stoicism is a powerful philosophy of deeply caring about the things you can control and acting on the things that you can most greatly impact. No wasted words. No wasted action. No wasted energy. A single, noble goal of living a virtuous life. And a virtuous life simply cannot be lived without caring and powerful action. Stoicism is a philosophy of caring, not apathy. Stoicism is a philosophy of action, not passivity. Don't let a bad from moment from a Stoic "influencer" tarnish your opinion of Stoicism itself. Read Marcus Aurelius. Read Seneca. Read Epictetus. Read the Stoics themselves and see if you come out of the experience thinking Stoicism is a philosophy of apathy or nihilism. You might be surprised.

Ownership tokens have been pumping, and volumes are up. This means more revenue for @MetaDAOProject. MetaDAO collects fees from trading activity across pools deployed on its Futarchy AMM, and also earns LP fees from seeded pools on Meteora. --> Top 5 tokens by 24H trading volume: $AVICI: $646,000 $UMBRA: $220,000 solana:METAwkXcqyXKy1AtsSgJ8JiUHwGCafnZL38n3vYmeta: $42,000 $SOLO: $33,900 solana:omfgRBnxHsNJh6YeGbGAmWenNkenzsXyBXm3WDhmeta: $29,600 Now what happens when there are 20, 30, or 40 ownership tokens, each generating 100K, 200K, or 300K in average daily volume?

Openclaw was a fun start of the ai agent hype, but Hermes is just better in every way I ended up spending more time fixing annoying bugs n shit with Openclaw, than getting it to consistently do relevant work for me I have not had the same issues with Hermes at all

"tokenized startups" will be the next meta. been tracking this space since january for my "structure of ICM piece". a few thoughts: > the goal of "tokenized startups" is to allow broader access (at least in price action) of VC-gatekept startups, creating "Internet Capital Markets" in the truest sense. > today, the fastest growing companies (SpaceX, Anthropic, Stripe) stay private for years/decades. access is gatekept, rather than like the IPOs of 20-30 years ago, when 18-month-old companies like Netscape could IPO. > the market has responded with adhoc fixes, the most obvious being the SPV which have grown 500% in last 2 years. the market's thirst for venture-performing assets needs to be quenched. > the idea for "tokenized startups" is not new - it rhymes with many things, including ICOs, DAO funds, tokenized SPVs, token-equity standoffs (eg. Aave/Axelar) , ownership coins, pre-ipo perps. > what's new is the set of primitives being used to build things (eg. closed end funds with Robinhood/USVC, tokenized SPVs with PreStocks, MetaDAO style launchpads, Ventuals styles perps). It's the wild west of experimentation. > the design space is just getting mapped out around now - some open questions include: 1. early stage vs late stage? are founders receptive or adversarial to tokenized markets? 2. pure price exposure (eg. via perps) vs. spot backing? 3. legal entity - SPV? Delaware CEF? Cayman token foundation? i would not be surprised if the major SF accelerators (YC/HF0/SPC etc.) are all actively experimenting on tokenization designs. having a "tokenized" basket of each batch (eg. YC W26) might unlock a ton of demand. more research on this topic incoming.... stay tuned....

Stop worrying about AI, you should be more worried about lack of AI. We really need to 10x human global productivity at 95%+ employment to satisfy demand for global consumers who just want the same quality of life as a median American today. AI alone isn’t going to get us there, even at the current most optimistic projections.

It is insane how almost every decent team on Solana has at least one @MonkeDAO member in it Even crazier is that you can be part of it for just 2.5 SOL They also have the most talent dense events all across the world, a must have for everyone serious about staying around

ZORB
ZORB@zorbsupply·
The mines are back open! Go to jade.supply/convert to convert your ZORB to JADE and begin mining.
JADE@jadeprotocol

The mines are open. JADE is live. Go to jade.supply, connect your wallet, and start mining. How to start: 1. Go to jade.supply 2. Connect your Solana wallet 3. Deposit SOL 4. Choose your tiles on the 5x5 grid 5. Deploy Rounds run every ~60 seconds. If your tile hits, you earn JADE. SOL from non-winning tiles is redistributed as winnings. Browser warning: You will see a phishing warning when loading the site. Someone reported the domain to attack the launch. We've submitted a review to have it removed. The site is safe. If you're on Chrome or Safari, click "Details" then "Visit this site" to proceed. ZORB holders: Conversion is live at jade.supply/convert. 1:1, same as promised. Your ZORB is burned and an equal amount of JADE is minted. The conversion pool is capped at 317,653 JADE. Important: deploy at least one round before converting if you want your XP to carry over. Convert from the same wallet you've deployed with. The tax: The sniper protection tax lands at 0.25% around 20:00 UTC today. Everything else - Staking, buybacks, Deep Vein, guilds, referrals - it's all live. The About page at jade.supply has the full breakdown of every mechanic. Mint: Cvx1KNrtcSu7nxC26gH2MNNLNXpEqAXni5YEuSStfJfh If it's not this address, it's not JADE. See you in the mines.
