@crosstown_line Not cost effective to build a rail line from LA to Bakersfield. It is an obvious reason why it hasn't been done in the last 100 years.

@C3DReminders It’s 10 hours via the coast… plus a connection to Caltrain. Improving the inland route ahead of HSR could get it to 5-7 hours to Oakland with a quicker BART connection. 5 hours is about where you need to be to start chipping away at the air-rail market share.

CA HSR should build whatever minimum infrastructure is needed to connect their initial segment to Metrolink and Caltrain and just start running LA-SF trains using Amtrak/Caltrans chargers at 125mph while continuing to build the HSR alignment

The hardest thing to do is getting a restaurant to give you less food at the same price. Even when all they need to do is not make an item.

Looks like this is what is left of the @Amtrak routes I haven't taken. There may be missing lines as I was using GIS data, which doens't appear to match the Amtrak route map exactly.

Looks like @Autodesk is also renaming Northridge to Burbank. Don't they know there is already a city in CA named Burbank? Technically Northridge is in the City of Los Angeles, so they are renaming LA to Burbank.
