This is simply the risk that comes with how the situation was handled.
And yeah… I forgot how soft people get when you speak on reality.
To be fair, it’s not like George Pickens didn’t have alleged issues in Pittsburgh. That context matters.
BUT…
When you don’t do a trade and extend, this is what comes with it.
Now the Cowboys are at a crossroads:
• Pay him
• Trade him
• Or use the Franchise Tag as a temporary solution
And historically speaking… David Mulugheta’s clients do NOT play on Franchise Tags.

David Mulugheta and Athletes First are going to fight to get George Pickens the best deal possible. That is their job. It is not their fault the #Cowboys did not structure a trade and extend deal when he arrived. When you allow a contract to reach the end of its life and a player hits the open market, this is the price you pay. That is Contracting 101. It applies across the board, not just in the NFL. And based on where the market is going, George Pickens is about to get PAID. The Seattle Seahawks and WR Jaxon Smith Njigba agreed to a 4 year, $168.6M contract extension Monday, kicking off what could be another highly profitable offseason for wide receivers across the league. The 24 year old was entering the fourth year of his rookie deal, and Seattle had already exercised his fifth year option for the 2027 season. JSN entered 2026 with two years and $26.5M remaining on his rookie contract. That money is now rolled into the extension, bringing the total to 6 years, $195.1M, keeping him under contract through the 2031 season. Market reset. Receivers eating. And George Pickens is next in line. 💰🏈
