Conference level governance is picking up steam in college athletics. It likely wouldn’t violate antitrust law and would allow schools to set their own athlete compensation rules. One idea is to allow each conference to have its own salary cap, based on conference revenues.

I’ve got no problem playing BYU more often. They’re a small private religious school that many programs don’t want to play, while also having internal hurdles/standards that make acquiring talent difficult. Yet despite this, they’ve become a great program. Sound familiar?
