At heart I believe all of us are children of God who are siblings to one another. As such, each of us has the inherent right to liberty, freedom, and the ability to pursue our dreams and create value for ourselves. We ought to stand for those principles and defend them for every human being regardless of race, creed, gender, orientation, or nationality. We may all be different in our unique ways, but we ought to treat each other equally before the law and afford dignity and respect to one another. We should show love, kindness, and decency to others in our private lives. Compassion, empathy, and mercy are strengths because they are virtues. Integrity and charity above all.

The rest of the article is far more concerning. The Congressional Black Caucus killed the SCORE act as political retaliation for redistricting. National partisan politics has entered the fray. This is really not the thing the CBC should be undermining because the results could be catastrophic for EVERYONE.

P4 Split from G6? Unfortunately, most likely after current CFP media contract ends. But that's small potatoes from possible P4 splitting away from each other. Kumbaya has never been farther away. Yes, everyone talks. All get along professionally. Blah, blah and blah. Split

@Running_Ryan @flugempire Here’s an example of what I meant. B1G AD discussing conf governance—likely bc of dismissed antitrust case in Choh vs Brown—bc a conf isn’t a monopoly like the NCAA. But maybe conf governance would not be a total break—all could do it. x.com/WinterSportsLa…

Conference level governance is picking up steam in college athletics. It likely wouldn’t violate antitrust law and would allow schools to set their own athlete compensation rules. One idea is to allow each conference to have its own salary cap, based on conference revenues.

Breakaway with Conference Silo CBA’s in Football & Basketball could be next steps. Inter-conference play only during regular season would be distasteful in my opinion. *SEC only playoffs *Big Ten only playoffs Would be terrible outcome, again, in my opinion. Delicate times

@Running_Ryan @Heroiam_Slava With the right trap, watching for build-ups, and a massive kinetic strike, Belarus will fare worse than russias invasion. How the Belarusians could possibly be that ignorant to make that move seems unrealistic, but then again, Russia certainly wasn't prepared. We will see.

Courts could, but it'd have to be extremely strong and narrow - like fraud, or coercion. Argument could absolutely be had here the President is coercing his employee, but the proponent would need to raise that and provide evidence. the AG themselves, the DOJ, couldn't be the party to raise the issue...

Vance: “There’s been no President who’s done more to ensure that Ukraine survived russia’s invasion than Trump.” This is false and frankly insulting. Ukraine survives because of its people and armed forces. Javelins helped — but this is absurd rewriting of reality.

If Russia thought using Belorussians was wise, it would have done so. It has already used North Koreans, African mercenaries, and prisoners. Putin is looking for expendable cannon fodder. I think he knows Belarus is unreliable and could create a bigger headache for himself. Ukraine also has forces covering that flank right now, so its physical army would not be spread out more than it does. It will stretch resources but incoming EU aid of 90B Euros will help offset that.

@Running_Ryan @Heroiam_Slava It would thin out ukranian defence. On the other hand, Lukashenka is risking inner politic issues, which he would probably not survive. Very hard to guess, what’s going on in Lukashenkas brain right now, how much pressure he gets from Moscow.

That’s exactly right and it is there right now. If the B1G and SEC gut the ACC and Big 12 of what’s left and partner in postseason and scheduling games, then we are in Sherman land. There is also the tax angle where all athletic revenues will no longer be tax exempt for member institutions. Leaving the realm of NCAA amateur athletics puts this in UBTI territory. There are a whole bunch of tools the DOJ and Treasury could use to totally castrate those two conferences as a response to the inevitable backlash.

Not to throw another legal wrench in the conference breakaway proposal, but it might not solve the antitrust problems. Some have suggested that the appeal of conference-level governance is antitrust protection, bolstered by the recent Choh opinion. And that's true to an extent. The idea is that no single conference has sufficient market power violate the Sherman Act, so if one conference implements overly restrictive rules then players can simply go play in another. This assumes the relevant market is comprised of many conferences on relatively level terms competing for the top players. But if we reach a point where one super-conference clearly becomes it's own separate "market," and other conferences really aren't competing with it for the top talent, then you're back where you started on antitrust terms.

Conversations about an SEC/Big Ten breakaway from the NCAA are more real than they’ve ever been. But given how badly those two leagues have mismanaged self-governance in the NIL era, it’s not a credible threat. Column for @yahoosports sports.yahoo.com/college-footba…

I’ve got no problem playing BYU more often. They’re a small private religious school that many programs don’t want to play, while also having internal hurdles/standards that make acquiring talent difficult. Yet despite this, they’ve become a great program. Sound familiar?

@AndyAriOn3 @AndyStaples @AriWasserman @BGInews No. We get 1 non con P4 opponent every year. As a fan I’d much rather play someone new every year. It’s okay to schedule them every once in a while but not every year. If BYU was still independent then absolutely.

The problem is no major SEC or B1G team is willing to schedule us. The SEC and B1G will both have 9 conference games and they each usually play a G6 or FCS team. That leaves two spots and many of those schools have a seventh home game and prefer eight. It has been extremely difficult to get those schools on the schedule and moreso after realignment. If we got a perpetual series with ND every year alternating between South Bend and Provo, it would be a tremendous boost for BYU’s visibility and brand. ND doesn’t need us but if realignment provides an opportunity for a long time relationship and rivalry, you take it.
