Marine Corps veteran Nico Marcolongo has dedicated his career to helping veterans and first responders rediscover purpose through sport. After serving overseas, he joined CAF and became the heart and soul of Operation Rebound, overseeing grants and events that provide adaptive equipment, training, and community support. In 2019, Nico received an award from the National Conflict Resolution Center for his veterans' health initiatives. From coordinating surf therapy sessions to mentoring participants on their fitness journey, Nico ensures that no veteran or first responder has to face their challenges alone! #TeamCAF #Semper #SemperFidelis

At the San Diego Triathlon Challenge fueled by @Toyota, Toyota’s partnership reflected a shared commitment to mobility and inclusion in sport. Crowds gathered at the Toyota Sports Festival, which included a sport court set up in the heart of the venue to experience adaptive sports such as wheelchair basketball and sitting volleyball. Kendall Gretsch has built her career across both summer and winter sport. What began in paratriathlon led her to compete at the highest levels. On February 7, nearly 400 guests filled the Skirball Cultural Center for CAF’s inaugural Defying Limits Los Angeles Gala, an evening that blended celebration, storytelling, and purpose. A spirited paddle raise pushed giving beyond $600,000, directly funding equipment, prosthetics, coaching, training, and competition opportunities! Led by co-chairs Nicole and Steven Ludwig, Kelly and Caylan Myronowicz, and Billy Payne, Defying Limits marked more than an inaugural gala. As CAF co-founder Bob Babbitt shared, it was “a starting line” as Los Angeles builds momentum toward LA28. Rogelio loved swimming underwater, Alitzel crushed her first CAF swim clinic, Luca swam the length of the pool un-aided, and Alvie showed huge progress after a year of lessons. CAF and 1904 CrossFit recently hosted an Adaptive Fitness clinic and so many accomplishments were achieved, including Nate's first pull-up since acquiring a spinal cord injury, and Jessica and Cali attending their first Adaptive CrossFit clinic (Jessica's first CAF clinic ever!). #TeamCAF

It’s Brain Injury Awareness Month, and CAF is proud to support people living with brain injuries that permanently affect mobility. After a traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and stroke, Sean went on to medal in Paralympic sport for both the U.S. and Puerto Rico. A CAF grant recipient, he says that CAF's support has helped him continue his triathlon career and be a beacon for others and for himself. #TeamCAF #BrainInjuryAwareness

CAF-Idaho and Boise Adaptive Snowsport Education (BASE) hosted a fun and inclusive day on the slopes, with participants ages 4-18 choosing between alpine skiing or snowboarding lessons. Three participants got on the slopes for the first time and fell in love with the sport, already asking when they can go again! #TeamCAF #SnowSports
