It was a pleasure to offer this talk for @CINAatMason. The science of investigative interviewing is reliable, effective, and applicable to sources, suspects, witnesses, and victims. It’s time for agencies to adopt science-based practices

@AmericanAir incredibly disappointed with how flight #3485 was handled this evening. Oversold and coordinated unprofessionally by gate agents. Nearly an hour delay and frustrated pilots, attendants, passengers.

As @CDCgov wrote in 23: "The overall % of children w/an exemption increased from 2.6% during the 21–22 school year to 3.0% during the 22–23 school year, the highest exemption rate ever reported in the US." At 5% opting out herd immunity fails-endangering kids whose parents comply

This weekend while out for lunch at a restaurant near Asheville, NC I sat near two Trump supporting gentleman and close enough to overhear their conversation. I used to think of them as low information, but I was wrong. These men were smart and full of information. Unfortunately, the information comes from another universe from the one that I am living in. This really was clear when they were discussing the storm and discussing how all of the information about how the Government was directing the storm to this area will come out after Trump is in office. I make this point because they were as certain in what they were discussing and intelligent in discussing it as I am certain of how wrong they are. As they both drove away in their septic tank work trucks, I realized how the Republicans won this group of hard-working Americans and it was on AM Radio. They will go turn on AM radio and receive their information about America there. I finally understand why Rush Limbaugh and others were paid so much money to work on AM radio. We lost that battle, and we need to figure out how to reengage with these Americans across America with actual facts and in a format that they want to listen to.

If RFK Junior eviscerates the CDC and FDA, and we get another horrific pandemic, along with outbreaks of measles and polio, we have to be able to respond to limit human damage, but to make sure people understand that it is our scientist and experts doing just that. 6

What Biden inherited was a broader set of problems, supply chain and others, driven by Covid, including inflation that beset every industrial democracy. That we emerged from it better and stronger than anyone else was not evident to a large swath of Americans. 3

IMO: Latino dealignment is a symptom of broader class dealignment. My argument, however, is that this transformation comes from electoral strategy as much as ideological shift. Dems *could* win; but they're not trying as hard as the GOP to win working class voters. 8/9

In July, Bezos called Trump to praise his response to the assassination attempt. In August, Trump hit up Amazon's current CEO for a large check, saying it would be in the company's best interest. The CEO did not agree to make the donation. washingtonpost.com/nation/2024/10…

New recs call for legal psych programs to ⬆️ diversity, ⬇️ financial barriers, and prepare students for career paths beyond academia. By addressing these recs, programs can support ECPs in a rapidly evolving field. Read Cantone et al.'s full article here buff.ly/4f3KopC

Don't sleep on state supreme courts! Michigan's may flip. So could Ohio's. Kentucky's may take a step left. Montana's, 2 big steps right. Right hopes to gain in North Carolina & Oklahoma. Arizona progressives aim for 1st-ever ousters. I review them all: boltsmag.org/your-state-by-…
