Today, we mobilised in support of Andrew, of @CATURathmines, who was the target of an illegal eviction.
He arrived home last night to find the locks changed, with his belongings inside. We interviewed him at the protest earlier.

Win for CATU member in @CatuSEBelfast
After delays and excuses for our members deposit, our member decided to join CATU. We worked with her and wrote to her agency, and once she had CATU’s backing she was returned £100 of her deposit.

We encourage all our members in North Belfast to attend this event. We will be looking at hoe to move into 2023 as a growing union across Belfast and the surrounding area

Yesterday CATU Belfast wrote to Boyle Properties regarding a members deposit. When we advised our member to contact one of the three protection schemes, they were told their deposit was not protected. We raised this issue with Boyle.

An update on the ongoing eviction:
The tenant had to go to A&E last night after the illegal eviction. She has fractured a bone in her wrist and is badly bruised all up her back and on the back of her head. She has given us permission to post a picture of some of the bruising

The landlord had one person pretend to be from threshold in order to trick the tenant into leaving her house. When she left the landlord and his brother dragged her into the driveway and pinned her down before wrestling the keys off her and locking her out of her house
