California's DMV has spent years cutting wait times and streamlining how people get things done. I just signed a bill to take us one step further. @CA_DMV is cutting the red tape that slows down government and allowing Californians to carry their IDs right on their phone.

@CAgovernor @CA_DMV I just renewed my DL and had to go in because of a address change, did 99% of it online including scheduling an appointment walked into dmv and the whole process took 11 mins!! Amazing work thanks for the changes.

@bdashlane @CAgovernor mDL is voluntary and serves as a companion to your physical, plastic driver’s license/identification card. It is not a replacement of the physical card, and you must continue to carry your physical driver license or state ID with you. dmv.ca.gov/portal/ca-dmv-…

@CAgovernor @CA_DMV I just renewed my drivers license. I made an appointment online, and was reminded in a text, I was in and out in 20 minutes. That included refreshing my voter registration and a photo. #ThanksGavin

@CA_DMV one of the 11,000 to get a letter regarding retesting…can’t get any solid answers. I’ve scanned the QR code, I’ve called, been to two different DMV locations. Called investigations, no answers. Nobody can answer my questions, nobody knows. I need help. @KenCalvert

@nic_pics_ @KenCalvert Please follow the instructions on the letter received to schedule an appointment. During your CA DMV office visit, be prepared to provide the requested documents and to complete a knowledge exam as indicated on the letter. There are no exceptions.

@pettiford_muse Or you may request for a temporary Driver’s License to be mailed. You can contact us at (800) 777-0133 or ask to speak with one of our Live Chat Agents. Click on the Ask DMV button on our website and our chatbot Miles will transfer you to the next available agent upon request.

@pettiford_muse Once the temporary Driver’s License link expires it can no longer be accessed. If you would like to obtain a temporary Driver’s License you may visit a DMV office.
