On the topic of Resident Evil, this short film that came out before RE: Requiem takes place in-universe during the raccoon city incident and has an emotionally gripping and interesting story. This is what RE fans are looking for, it's not that difficult to understand.

Year matters in a movie set during the Raccoon City Incident because containment would be handled differently. You cant just stumble into a city infected and overrun with zombies with modern day internet and comms

@CBItemBox I'll say this right now, of all the material shown so far, nothing feels like Resident Evil. It feels like generic horror film #345-26. Honestly, this looks and feels more like a Silent Hill than anything.

@PhantomRocket_ Simply put, the Raccoon city incident doesnt happen the same way in modern day. He claims RE2 and RE3 are happening at the same time, but Claire and Leon with modern tech would not be in the city, because they would already have information not to go there. Theres layers

@CBItemBox I get the complaining, I know he obviously mentions the game's, and it taking place in Raccoon that's his first mistake. Why does it HAVE to take place in the 90's. Why are we not allowed to modernize RE. Why are we not allowed to have different stories. Thats what i want to know

@dittomoder Or they could just make an RE movie that at least follows the set rules of the game universe. Wouldnt be hard to follow those rules while making an independent story in the world

@okjustSergio Read the leaked script bro. Its not my responsibility to get you the link, go find it and read for yourself. So far the leaked script is spot on with the trailers. Tentacles come out of a dog in the script. IDK about you, but in the games T-Virus cerberus dont have tentacles

@RegalMill388 So Im sure no one in that city was able to tell any law enforcement or government agency or news agency or podcast or tiktok account, etc, and no one knows anything outside of the city, to the point where a hospital is willing to send a courier to "Raccoon General hospital"

@CBItemBox You’re inventing plot holes for a movie you haven’t even seen yet. Cell service can go down, the outbreak can still be unfolding, and people can have perfectly normal reasons to end up in the city. None of this is remotely impossible just because it’s 2026.

@RegalMill388 No, with cell phones in 2026, Leon wouldnt even go into work for his first day because he would know the city is overrun ahead of time. Claire would probably have known Chris was leaving for Europe. Neither would have any reason to be in the city
