There is no way to prepare yourself to go through a holiday right after losing your mom. Bittersweet is the best word I can think of. While my family is brought together closer, there is no ignoring the hole left at Christmas this year with her absence. Cherish your loved ones 💙

One typically American thing I dislike: many people show up places (the airport, a grocery store, a gas station) wearing their pajamas. I had never seen that anywhere else until I came to America. I find it distasteful and unhygienic, among other things. That said, I'd rather see 10000 people dressed in pajamas than have them dress up because a government bureaucrat dictated it. A bureaucrat's mere *suggestion* of a dress code is un-American.

Yesterday, after a long and courageous fight with cancer, my wonderful stepmom is at peace. I say stepmom, but she was more than that. She was the woman who helped raise me when she didnt have to. I will love her forever. Please keep your loved ones close ❤️
