@CBjtownsend @DaileySuzanne Jen that is a good point that just because it was not a super fun day, does not mean it was not a good day. It goes back to, did we find a way to connect with our students that day. #cbsdpdslowchat

@DaileySuzanne My hope is that Ss feel like they GET to be in my classroom. I want them to go home feeling like they've had a good day or a great day. It may not always be a super fun day, but a good day; good enough to want to come back and do it all over again :)! #cbsdpd

@DaileySuzanne Empowerment...through class meetings! Ss are able to get to know each other better as they build stronger relationships with their peers. My kids especially ❤️ Positive Thought Tuesday where they choose a character trait/example to describe their classmates! Heartwarming! #cbsdpd

@DaileySuzanne I hope students feel like they GET to be in my room. I do let them know I feel like I GET to have them in my room. I think if I can make it clear to my students that they are my central reason for being at school; then they will feel they GET to be in my room. #CBSDslowchats

@OConnorReads @DaileySuzanne I agree with you Shannon. In the past two years I have had my students complete Genius Hour projects. Student investment was high and it was amazing what we learned about one another.

@DaileySuzanne Students need to have opportunities to choose how they engage with skills (e.g. choosing their research topic to fit a personal interest or goal when practicing a research skill) to feel a sense of empowerment about their own learning. #cbsdpd #slowchat

All four ingredients of engagement in The Wild Card are important, I will focus my energy this summer on environment. I am moving grade levels and I am already working on trying to create a space that is appealing to the third graders that I will be teaching. #cbsdpd
