@ArtElectrics You would have agreed to that exam in your contract at the time of his enrolment as entry requirements are quite clear. What college is he doing his apprenticeship through?

He’s just been told he needs to do his English exam still - 4 years too late no? Last week he found out he is finished with college now. It’s a joke.

@JTLTraining suck The whole education system for electricians needs revamping Reuben is in year 4 of his apprenticeship and they have never even spoken to me once on the phone to say how he is getting on. This needs to change.

Looking around the forums have you had an issue with Harvi and CT connections since a recent firmware update? Seems possibly so. This is similar and apparently the Harvi range should not have been setup with a distance of 15m outdoors? Install worked fine for 8 months. I’ve swapped the zappi for a GivEnergy EVSE at my cost. Appreciate this is below your pay grade so thanks for asking/getting involved. I couldn’t get an answer on the helpline this afternoon but will be using normal complaints route rather than hassling the founders online 🤭. Still not great to be telling my customers we are to blame imho. The ultimate issues similar to Adam at Sota can be not what they seem which is fair enough. But comms to consumers has to be better. Thankfully this customer is a friend. So all good.

@au_tom_otive Hey @au_tom_otive not sure if my original post didn’t send on this. I understand your concern around the cellular but with hidden costs has my energi done anything about the warranty issues from their previous instructions of not needing RCD’s for installers.

Full disclosure: I was contacted by two particularly vulnerable customers who had seen posts on a Facebook group about monthly data costs for a smart charger asking if the same applied to the zappi. I told them it didn’t and thought it worthy of wider attention. Turns out it was.
Tom Callow@au_tom_otive

Sad to see someone implying that cellular-only EV charge points don’t exist when they clearly do. And, having worked for a company that sold cellular-only chargers, I can absolutely assure you that no company will bear those data costs forever. But apparently, we must be lying 🤷‍♂️

@jesseb4me @myenergiuk @JordeeBrompton She and they say this whilst also using scrupulous reasons to back out of warranty claims. I would take what they say with a huge pinch of salt because they do not own the moral high ground at all.

I applaude @myenergiuk @JordeeBrompton for her statement that; “we think that manufacturers should be obliged to ensure complete transparency with their customers to prevent unnecessary confusion, frustration and unexpected expense in the future.” This is needed for sure!

@au_tom_otive What about your misleading RCD instructions that’s costing some Sparky’s 1000,s to rectify retrospectively or are you ingoring that

So, for anyone who wants to self-righteously peacock around suggesting that this is some kind of scare story we dreamed up to boost sales, it originated from two concerned customers reading a discussion between fellow EV drivers in an owners group, weeks before our press release.

Random post and thought for genuine opinions based on some documents I have been reviewing. Is a socket, one point or two points of utilisation? Should you count a light switch as a point for certification? How and where do you draw your reason and justification for this.

@JordeeBrompton I have to be honest this feels like deflection from my energi to avoid addressing the warranty issue from your manufacturers instructions. Is there any comments on this @JordeeBrompton

@Monty_Electrics @ChrisRuddock2 It is becoming more of a grey area but like you they are probably classed as a control item rather than a load but, what I am seeing from this and the LinkedIn post is that many are doing this differently

@ChrisRuddock2 I agree you could go down this road as far as you want and ultimately doesn’t matter. On LinkedIn a screen shot of GN3 has been shared on page 156 and gives a bit of a steer.

@ChrisRuddock2 It’s definitely a muddy one lol. You test at a switch so why not count it? I get you would t test a junction box or count it but this makes or breaks your circuit? Always thought it’s an area that should be clearer.

@CB_electrics I deliberately avoided mentioning single/double sockets 😂. Can I answer you in a few weeks when I finish my investigation into the world of BS 1363 and loading in different situations please? It's an unknown variable in reality. As an engineer we must make assumptions in the O+M
