Today will be that day. If not today, certainly tomorrow. If not tomorrow, June.

Im patiently waiting for the 3-4 game from Friedl making him 3 for his last 37, and hearing Tito tell us all about how he could feel Friedl was bound to break out. It’s coming soon.

While TJ Friedl wasn’t in the lineup tonight, @CBoxTrace is done seeing Friedl play every day and would give Tito a ton of credit if he sat him on Tuesday.

@willie_lutz Barrel % calculated through all batted balls, and not per AB/PA. So when the Reds have 372 strikeouts, 3rd most in MLB - it can be a little misleading.
I also think there’s some players on this team that do barrel balls up, but they just don’t have enough juice for it to matter
English

@yuggs513 I was thinking, kinda wild how being horrid, leaving no money, creates the opportunity in which gives him his biggest wins.
English

@bryce_spalding In a 0-0 game do we want a guy to see the ball through? So don’t go until we know it’s a hit. To what- make sure we have an extra runner in scoring position? Risking a slow roller, bobble, ect to not score the first run.
We think throwing home and tag is easier than putout?
English

@CBoxTrace That was a very different situation, and play, and read. But point taken. I’m wrong
English

@bryce_spalding Here’s one, without doing much work. Reds win by 1 run in 11 innings. This is the big leagues after all.

@bryce_spalding You’re going to make me spend 8 hours just to prove this is an insanely horrible take.
English

@CBoxTrace It never works. We make a big deal when it does work because it’s so rare.
I may be. I’d rather see if Gonzalez throws one in the shitter to first base instead of lobbing one to home from 75 feet.

Thanks man. Great person, but most importantly going to be a great husband and father.

Hey Nutter Cutter Nation,
It’s time to say a long, proper goodbye. After almost 4 year behind the scenes, in the producer’s chair, hitting record, mixing audio, cutting, troubleshooting streams, and pouring my heart into every show, podcast, and broadcast… Saturday marks my last day with Chatterbox Sports.
Chatterbox wasn’t just a job for me. It was the place where a sports-obsessed kid from the Cincinnati area got to live out his dream. From the early days grinding it out, to the late nights building shows like Off The Bench, to the live broadcasts at Miami, Bengals recaps, Friday night football, Ohio Challenge (aka Ballon town) and everything in between — this chapter has been everything I could’ve hoped for and more.
To Trace, Shaun, Reid, and the entire CBox team from the past and present… Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. You took a chance on me, let me grow, trusted me, and gave me that opportunity to create an amazing platform that allowed me to talk sports for a living. We’ve laughed until we cried, stressed over deadlines, celebrated wins, mourned tough losses, and built something special together. The growth from nothing to what Chatterbox is today is something that I will carry with pride forever.
To the listeners, viewers, callers, and chatters: YOU made this special. Every “Casey, fix the audio!” (we got there eventually), debate, every laugh, every time you showed up live or hit play on the podcast. You turned mornings into memories. You made the grind worth it. Whether you’re a Bengals season-ticket holder screaming at the TV with me, a Reds fan who’s suffered enough, or just someone who loves Cincinnati sports as much as we do… Thank you for the memories.
I’ll never forget the energy in the room when things were clicking. The friendships forged over shared passion for the Jungle, the Red Machine, and Cincinnati. The way we turned up the volume on local voices in a national sports world. That time has come to a close and It’s time for me to turn the page, chase some new goals, and take on a new challenge. Stay tuned for more in the near future excited for what’s to come.
That being said Chatterbox Sports is in great hands.
Thank you for the memories. Every single one. The highs, the lows, the technical difficulties we laughed about later, and the moments that made it all feel bigger than just sports.
So long, Chatterbox.

Forever grateful,
Casey McCollister

The Cincinnati Reds current depth chart heading into 2026. What do you think is the biggest need?
English

@bryce_spalding LOL. KeBryan Hayes has a 112 wRC+ in the last 11 days! How in the world can you sit him?!
English

What an interesting lineup. I kind of like it.
Friedl has a 122 wRC+ his last 8 games. Hope he keeps that going. He needs to get back to walking some. Hasn’t walked in his last 48 PA.
McLain 139 wRC+ his last 8 as well.
