The Sound of a Losing Culture. I hear it in the dugout during games. A player strikes out looking on a borderline pitch. He walks back to the bench tosses his bat and starts the script: "Blue has a flight to catch," or "The sun was right in my eyes." The coach nods just to stop the noise. The teammates shrug because they do it too. But the standard of the program just dropped another inch. You think you’re just "venting." Everyone else sees a player who is too soft to own his failure. The 3 Lefts Mental Audit: • The Excuse Subsidy: Every time you blame the umpire, the sun, or the mound you are paying a tax on your own development. If it’s someone else’s fault you don't have to fix anything. And if you don't fix anything you stay exactly where you are Average. • The "Main Character" Delusion: The sun is hitting the pitcher’s eyes too. The umpire is missing calls for both sides. The game isn't out to get you it just doesn't care about you. Stop acting like the world is conspiring against your batting average. • The Respect Gap: You want your teammates to trust you in the 7th inning. Then stop acting like a victim in the 2nd. Real leaders don't look for someone to blame they look for a way to adjust. The game doesn't reward the player with the best reason It rewards the player who makes the most adjustments. If you want to be treated like an elite ballplayer, start acting like one when things go wrong. High-level players don't have bad luck they have short memories and a plan for the next pitch. Average players want the world to be fair. Ballplayers realize the dirt is dirty and they keep digging anyway. Stop auditioning for the victim role. Nobody is buying tickets to that show. #3LeftsBaseball #BaseballIQ

@nextlevelbb Ive been saying this for 10 years…. The art of pitching is forgotten by most , or some college coaches think they can teach command later . Ill take a pitcher 10/10 over a thrower everyday

Amazing watching the lack of command in college baseball. Kids used to go to pitching coaches. Now they go to velocity coaches and forget to learn to actually pitch. Velocity dudes with below average command and pitchability get coaches fired.

@CoachSwit I know many in our area, what makes it worse is when a parent is on the staff as a pitching coach …… who is left to advocate for the kid …..

Honest Question - How many high school coaches are overusing arms… Because they lack pitching depth? Haven’t developed it? Or care more about wins than long-term health? Running guys into the ground isn’t coaching—it’s concerning. Thoughts?

I’ve seen a lot of painful ways to lose a game But this one…damn…

For all the velocity experts out there… So are we saying the pitcher who throws 85 mph, commands the zone, and can land two off-speed pitches for strikes anytime has no chance of playing D1 baseball? Or are we pretending those guys don’t still get outs? Just wondering?

There’s a high school baseball program in our area having their pitchers throw 4 bullpens back to back days this week… Day 1 - 60% Day 2 - 70% Day 3 - 80% Day 4 - 100% I mean…what are we doing?

This is why we’re screwed up as a society…I can’t make one comment without a slew of people saying ‘what about this’..’what about that’… I’m not all knowing nor do I claim to be. I’m saying that this particular situation is bad…unfortunately people don’t agree 🤷‍♂️

One of the biggest tests of character is how you react when your name isn’t said in the lineup. Just a friendly reminder before college season starts: It’s a long season. A lot of things can happen. Not now doesn’t mean never. Remain a good teammate and keep working hard.

Every1 wants to be on a good team. Every1 wants to be surrounded by good players. Sweet! Fair. The separator is who wants to be the guy in the situation that can change the game for his teammates. Regardless of your role those are the guys who succeed in the sport and in life.
