Without increased federal investment in child care, parent fees will rise, wait lists will get longer, and the child care sector will be thrown back into turmoil. Urge PM Carney to keep the government’s $10aDay child care promise: childcarenow.ca/letter

#Childcare "is one of the biggest affordability challenges facing families and single parents in Burnaby and across BC. High fees and long waitlists make it harder for parents to work, go to school, or fully participate in community life." #bcpoli

Affordable child care is essential to Canada’s economy, enabling parents, especially women, to return to work, support their families, and grow the economy. Urge PM Carney to keep the government’s $10aDay child care promise: childcarenow.ca/letter #KeepTheChildCarePromise

I’m glad you’re “working hard to make child care more affordable” but that’s simply not enough of a commitment to women. You should be working to ensure every family that needs it has access to quality $10aDay child care and educators (almost all women) are fairly compensated.

Here's an illustration of why (one reason, of several) #cdnchildcare should take a universal approach as promised in 2021 - not return to the old, failed targeting bit.ly/4cvebJl

$10aDay child care supports nearly 1M families and strengthens our economy. Without new funding: higher fees, longer waitlists, program closures. Families can’t afford setbacks. Learn more + take action: childcarenow.ca/letter #KeepTheChildCarePromise

Let’s celebrate Jean Augustine, the first Black Canadian woman elected as a Member of Parliament. Since 1993, Jean has fought for women, low-income families, and people of colour. She’s one of the reasons we observe #BlackHistoryMonth! Who is your local hero? 📷Althea Thauberger
