Breezy-windy conditions are expected later today-tonight, with gusts of 30-40 mph in most areas. Wind gusts could be as high as 50 mph on the Eastern Shore (where a Wind Advisory is in effect). The gusty winds will be capable of blowing down tree limbs & other unsecured objects.

I-95 SOUTHBOUND: Two lanes are closed for a multi-vehicle crash in the Fredericksburg area at mile marker 119, which is south of exit 126 (Spotsylvania), and just before exit 118 (Thornburg). Single southbound lane open. @SpotsyGov @SpotsySheriff @CarolineGov @CCFireRescue

I-95 NORTHBOUND: All northbound traffic is now being detoured at exit 118 (Thornburg) in Spotsylvania to use Route 1 northbound as an alternate route. Traffic signal timing in the area is being adjusted to accommodate heavy traffic.

I-95 NORTHBOUND: Several miles of congestion exists approaching crash scene. Alternate routes include exit 118 (Thornburg) to Route 1 NB, or for drivers headed beyond NoVa/DC area, consider exit 104 (Carmel Church) to Rt. 207 EB to Rt. 301 NB.

I-95 NORTHBOUND: All lanes of northbound I-95 closed at mm 125 at Route 17 overpass in Spotsylvania for tractor-trailer crash. Crash located north of exit 118 (Thornburg), and before exit 126 (Spotsylvania). Seek alternate routes. @VaDOT @VaDOTRVA @SpotsyGov @SpotsySheriff

CAROLINE: All lanes of Route 17 have reopened near the Camden Road intersection, west of Rt. 301. Earlier crash scene has been cleared. @CarolineGov @CCFireRescue

CAROLINE: Single lane closed on Route 301 northbound near Fort A.P. Hill gate. Vehicle crash. Expect delays. VDOT crews traveling to scene to assist with traffic control. @Fort_APHill @CarolineGov @CCFireRescue

(4/4) Congestion is affecting other primary roads in the FXBG area, including Rt. 1 NB between exit 126 in Spotsylvania and Falmouth intersection in Stafford, just north of Falmouth Bridge. Real-time traffic info at 511virginia.org.

(3/4) Traveling to a destination north of the Washington, D.C., area? Take I-95 northbound exit 104 (Carmel Church) in Caroline County, and use Route 207 eastbound and Route 301 northbound as an alternate route to avoid delays.

(2/4) Northbound lanes divide north of the Fall Hill Avenue overpass in Fredericksburg. At divide, STAY LEFT to travel through. Need to exit at Route 17? STAY RIGHT to use exit 133. Don't fear if you stay right + don't need to exit. All three lanes reconnect north of exit 133.

(1/4) Three I-95 northbound lanes are open at the Rappahannock River between Fredericksburg and Stafford. Two lanes cross the new NB bridge, and a single lane crosses the original NB bridge. I-95 northbound backups currently begin just north of exit 126 (Spotsylvania).

REMINDER: Only one lane OPEN on I-95 north from 7 p.m. TONIGHT until 4:30 a.m. TOMORROW near exit 130 (Rt. 3) to open new bridge over the Rappahannock River. Expect heavy traffic on I-95 north & Rt. 1. More information at Improve95.org

The Main Gate will continue to be closed until further notice. The South Gate will be utilized for all traffic entering/exiting the installation. Signs will be posted redirecting traffic to the South Gate. The VCC and DEERS will be open and accessible from the Main Gate only.

UPDATE: Detour now in place. Route 1 southbound has partially reopened at Jericho Rd. in Caroline after earlier crash. Rt. 1 NB traffic is detoured to Jericho Rd. to Telegraph Rd. to Rt. 1 NB. @CCFireRescue
