@cchp It seems you are trying to have a pop at the heating industry and in a recent post on your page you. Criticise a very good job by an excellent engineer. There are more positive ways to go about improving the heating engineer. Have a good day.

Because to hit net zero we need to replace millions of gas boilers with heat pumps. Air to water heat pumps heat radiators or underfloor heating and hot water cylinders. Air to air heat pumps are best if you want cooling as well but the grants are only for air to water heat pumps

@Tedisiek @plumbers_urban There is not a lot as such other than keeping the evaporator clean of debris, blowout the dust, a wipe down. More importantly a performance test , noted CoP, after that what’s going on indoors with emitters and controls

@plumbers_urban Out of interest what’s involved with a heat pump service. We had ours done before last heating season and I remember being shocked by the bill. On the other hand our air conditioning apparently doesn’t need servicing? (Or maybe it does)

I actually can’t believe the power of that single indoor unit which provided the full kW output. It only measures 1055mm x 299mm x 215mm. COP 3.51. Would need some large radiators for that. Perfect solution for hard to heat rooms with little floor or wall space and high heat loss

Our first air to air heat pump installation. This large garden room extension has 6.5kW heat loss. Customer has no wet system. They asked for electric underfloor heating but I said I’ve got a better idea. Heating and cooling all via this neat 7kW Samsung air con/heat pump system

Been helping to commission a 10kW Vaillant heatpump with @Openenergymon monitoring this afternoon, it's amazing how quiet these units are, the Vaillant Sensocomfort controls work very well and are easy to setup

@Damon_BPHR Anytime a grant is involved it becomes a race to the bottom with big companies chucking stuff in as a purely money making exercise. Just another transaction.

How can they shout about this, it ain’t real life. I go to an install every week that is utter crap. It’s appalling. To be honest I wouldn’t listen to me, but someone needs to grab a hold of what I’m saying and do something, there’s got to be someone out there with a bigger voice

@Jonathon_Hallam We had NG warm air heating, quite crude but brilliant to heat the house and so cheap to run. Sadly like HP’s today, very few could design the systems properly, so they in effect died. The USA has installed warm air for decades as they included cooling for the summer.

@theheatinghub Met with an Architet yesterday, when mentioned Air Source Heat pumps, he went off on one! They don’t work in the coldest months and I’d need supplementary heating, the prices of ASHPs are extortionate etc etc. Still a long way to go educating people, even professionals!

Brilliant article on how gas central heating revolutionised the way we occupy our homes, extending warmth & comfort to more rooms Between 1970-2010 avg room temps rose from 12°C to 17°C! Heat pumps are how we retain our standards of living sustainably ft.com/content/9632c1…

It seems oddly comforting to me that Carl Rogers was 75 when he wrote this, although Im a little embarassed it’s taken me years and years of person centred-ness to have found this quote! Always learning, always growing especially when it comes to looking after ourselves!

Government's plans to achieve net zero rely on reducing carbon emissions from home heating. But progress with installing heat pumps is slow and there's uncertainty over the role of hydrogen in home heating. Watch 👇 for more Our report: nao.org.uk/reports/decarb…

How do we hit 600k fitted in 2028? 1) £7.5k grant to fit a heat pump = 200k 2) No boilers in new build homes from 2025 = 200k 3) DELAYED: Supply side incentives, aka Clean Heat Market Mechanism = 200k Without the CHMM, we'll miss that target news.sky.com/story/boiler-m…
