On a positive note Rays fans, I love some of the adjustments Boyle has made. The arm angle has dipped more. He was using his FB & Slider nearly 85% of the time last year. Today, for example, that number was at 52%. Baserunners are still going to steal on him. That remains a worry. But good start!

This is an extraordinary set of numbers for Junior Caminero: 1. He has seen the second-lowest % of pitches in the zone -- just 36.8%. (Kerry Carpenter is first) 2. He is 43rd best among 202 MLB hitters in chase rate, going after pitches outside the zone. (23%)

The Rays finally brought up Bigge, but half of the pen still sits in the low 90s. Englert, Sulser, Kelly and Seymour all have below average fastball velocities. I think bringing Cam Booser, a lefty with at least solid velocity and stuff makes a some sense, especially with only 1 lefty in the pen currently. Going to be interesting to see how they manage the pen in the short term.

It’s bad enough you didn’t replace Brandon Lowe’s power in the off season but why pitch to Junior with the rest of the guys behind him.

Some Rays fans think this because they tuned out in Sept. Griffin Jax pitched 10 innings in Sept. Gave up 1 ER with 12 K. I think it is fair to question if he is a closer for this team, though. Historically, he has not performed well in high leverage situations.
