@KoroushRp20645 @matthew_petti Also, I used ethnic designations as short-hand its very possible you have something like the "Bloc of Minorities" in Poland of Iranians of many stripes who want a federal system and an inclusive/democratic state. Why should governors be appointed from Tehran rather than locally?

Iran will have a Mexican-style big-tent Regime party that has no ideology other than Corruption and somehow always manages to scrape by. The opposition will be a bare-knuckle cage match between antisemitic Nazis and philosemitic Nazis.
Bocchi Desu@Bocchi_is_me

Future politics of Iran will be really funny In 30 years you'll have, the massive Liberal-conservative party that gets 70% of the vote who's policies are basically Japan's LDP 20% will be kill every shia party and the rest will be a loose coalition of leftists and islamists...

@firagawalkwthme @johnholowach This is the advantage of RCV. Multiple flavors of Mods/Progressives/Monarchists/Republicans (i'm being satirical with the monarchists/republicans) can run without diluting their vote and you don't have plurality victories that might not be representative of the voting majority!

@firagawalkwthme @johnholowach Yes, but for obv reasons (you can still keep running, you can still hope for an electoral miracle) RCV makes easier not just for candidates but for orgs. Orgs can dual endorse some1 their ideological lane without feeling like they are alienating a particular person.

One of the biggest moves that set apart the NYC mayoral race from the several ongoing CA races (LA mayor and CA gov) was when Brad Lander and Zohran Mamdani co-endorsed each other. No politician running in CA cares more about the state than their own pride and ego

One big thing missing from the D Line opening: our friend Tom LaBonge The long-time Councilman - and champion of All Things Los Angeles - passed away in 2021 Wilshire/La Brea Station was dedicated to him later that year. He was a huge supporter of the project

Tehran & its Shia militias rain bombs on Kurdistan, while Trump turns around & blames more than 40 million Kurds for allegedly “taking” U.S. arms meant for Iranian protesters. A people under drone strikes and missile attacks, are now being scapegoated for a failed policy.
Rapid Response 47@RapidResponse47

.@POTUS: The Iranian people "want to go out on the streets. They have no weapons. They have no guns. We thought the Kurds were going to give [them] weapons, but the Kurds disappointed us. The Kurds take, take, take... I’m very disappointed in the Kurds."

“Does anyone seriously believe that a Palestinian political entity operating within a binational state would consent to continued Jewish immigration from France, Britain, America, or South Africa? Opposition to Jewish immigration during the Mandate was not incidental to Palestinian nationalism; it was one of its founding constants. Are we now to believe that, after a century of conflict, wars, intifadas and October 7, that position will suddenly reverse itself under the magic spell of liberal constitutionalism? And if Jewish immigration is barred, what precisely becomes of the Zionist promise in an age when hostility toward Jews has once again exploded across large parts of the West to levels many considered unimaginable only a decade ago? And what of the Palestinians? Are they expected to relinquish the “right of return,” the sacred principle around which much of Palestinian political identity has been organized for generations? Will millions of registered refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and elsewhere simply abandon the central article of faith that has animated their national movement for decades? Or is the expectation instead that the Jews accept unlimited return, willingly transform themselves overnight into a minority inside an Arab-majority polity, and trust that this state will somehow emerge as the first stable liberal democracy in the modern Arab world?”

@peterawolf The IRI Constitution doesn't include a single word about the anti-Mossadegh coup, but spills ink on Khomeini's protest against the White Revolution (land reform inc taking land away from clergy to give to peasants and women's right to vote): constituteproject.org/constitution/I…

@DiplomatOfNight Don't worry the Iranian-backed Iraqi militias will avenge that humilatation and humiliate themselves further by recklessly bombing the Kurdistan Region based on some thin theory of Mossad bases. #dumbesttimeline

WSJ: Shortly before the 40-Day-War, Israel established a secret base inside Iraq for special forces & possible search-and-rescue missions inside Iran wsj.com/world/middle-e…
Elizabeth Tsurkov@LizHurra

Interesting. According to several Iraqi sources who've gone on the record, a foreign force carried out an airborne landing in the desert of Najaf & clashed with Iraqi security forces, killing one. independentarabia.com/node/643847/%D… This is possibly linked to a cryptic line in today's written statement of the Commander of the Israeli Air Force: "These days, the fighters of the special units of the IAF are carrying out special missions, which could ignite the imagination." The IAF has several special forces units: Shaldag, Unit 669 (special rescue), a special forces intelligence unit, and Unit 5700 (forward air field tactical unit)

This is a photo of the vacation @DanBilzerian, @jakeshieldsajj and I went on to France, Romania, and Dubai. It’s the same trip Nick Fuentes accused Dan went on to “flee.” Here we are free diving with a world record holder for free diving. Dan actually asked me on whether we should invite Nick to join us and I said no. Let’s keep it to close friends. Dan is one of the absolute most authentic people I know. He doesn’t play the political game. He speaks his mind regardless of the cost. Something rarely any politician does. There were times I even recommended he say things differently to succeed and he absolutely refused. He doesn’t censor himself for political or financial gain. He would rather die than lie or hold back his beliefs. You may not agree with everything he says, but someone who actually doesn’t sell out his positions is priceless for this country. When Dan called out Nick, I reached out Dan and he responded “I know it’s bad for me but I don’t care, it needed to be said.” Just a reminder that Dan does not hold back for political or financial gain. But thankfully this whole situation has worked out in Dan’s favor. Even if what Nick said was true (which as someone who was there knows it’s not) then it proves he’s a rat, and with it not being true again further proves he’s actively undermining the real challenge to Israel-first politics. Either way it proves Dan’s point.
