Millennials are the elite generation because they cranked out 12-page essays the night before they were due. No ChatGPT. No Claude. Just lo-fi beats playing in the background, Black coffee at midnight, footnotes that were somehow correct, and pure delusion. Grade was an A minus. Period.

Sure it's a political charm offensive to soften Bailey's image and increase his appeal to urban voters.

Bailey is as downstate rural conservative as they come. There are worse things than such a Republican even signaling that he will treat a major blue city as something other than a portal to Hell.

World-conquering ambitions aside, this is what I call the Pritzker proposition: he's an effective administrator but knows how to keep the left happy. Plus, it's hard to smear him as a radical because he looks like every third guy at the Oak Park Cooper's Hawk on a Friday night.

The piece doesn't say it directly, but Dems basically need a liberal version of Buckley's fusionism — the combination or "fusion" of traditionalist and social conservatism with economic right-libertarianism. Ossoff is one of the few who could actually build this.

You'll also notice Pritzker isn't trying to start a feud. The CBC demanded he stop backing Stratton against Kelly, and the next day he gave Stratton another seven figures.

“Carpetbagger” is about more than geography; it’s about someone not spending enough time in the district getting to know constituents and issues *because* they only parachuted in to run for office.
Which is exactly what IL-09 voters said: we don’t know her, she don’t know us.
