The Texas Task Force Operational Exercise 2026 was a huge success! The large-scale joint training simulated hurricane and tornado damage, catastrophic flooding and hazardous materials incidents, pushing teams to work together in fast-changing and complex conditions. Exercises likes these help keep teams sharp and prepared to respond quickly when Texans need them most.

Being a Bomb Tech takes a rare mindset: calm under pressure, methodical in chaos, and committed to protecting others at any cost. It’s not just a specialty, it’s a calling. Respect to those who stepped up to test for one of the most demanding roles in public safety. @HCSOTexas

Engine 104 was blocking traffic on US 59 N near Exit 151 when it was struck by an 18-wheeler. All four firefighters were transported and are expected to recover. “Blocking traffic on the freeway is one of the most dangerous tasks we do,” Chief Muñoz said. HPD is investigating.
