Two months ago, when Oil was at $105-110, I published a report arguing that oil prices were heading much lower. What happened? Oil fell to $67-70. Then Trump wanted a little more drama. Hormuz is mostly closed. Yesterday I said oil was going lower. Today, oil is lower. Do I know something everyone else doesn't? Probably not. Ijust understand supply and demand. There simply is not enough demand to justify $100+ oil.

If you direct your dipshit eyeballs to the bottom left of the graph you’ll notice that it cites the source of the data which happens to be the fucking CFTC so your cope about the source of data not being accurate doesn’t work here. Secondly , Brent is the more appropriate choice if you’re trying to assess the global oil market… you know …. because it prices 70-80% of the entire internationally traded crude oil. The biggest geopolitical risk centers on Middle Eastern exports and the straight , so naturally Brent is the most affected. If your goal is to analyze the disruption involving the Persian Gulf , OPEC exports or global seaborne flows , Brent is the benchmark you should be utilizing.

If you need help understanding this graph let me know , but I’d like for you to explain to me why buyers are willing to pay a historically large premium for immediate delivery (which would suggest that there is intense near-term demand relative to the available supply) if there was not an extreme demand for oil currently?

In the big short: Before the market finally crashed, there is a tense sequence where the characters realize the underlying mortgage bonds are failing and defaults are rising, but official bond prices on their terminal screens are still going up. This happened bc big banks + credit rating agencies manipulated the prices and refused to downgrade the bonds. Sounds like todays oil market.
