@AvsPackersFan @Petespucks @NHL_Muse But that's the problem, we don't get all division matchups. There is no reason to have wild-card teams. Especially if they aren't playing in a qualifying round, which would make them true wild cards. Go by Division or 1-8. Not this hybrid format, which feels repetitive.

I wish the NHL would go back to the 1–8 playoff format. If the playoffs were seeded that way based on today’s standings, the first round would look like this: Western Conference: Avalanche — Sharks Stars — Oilers Wild — Golden Knights Ducks — Mammoth Eastern Conference: Hurricanes — Bruins Sabres — Red Wings Lightning — Islanders Canadiens — Penguins Which playoff format do you prefer: the current divisional bracket or the classic 1–8 seeding? 👀
